Durability of Generation 2 Magnetic Ride Suspension

I am interested in upgrading from a first-generation R8 without Magnetic Ride Control to a second-generation R8 (model years 2016-2018) equipped with Magnetic Ride Control.

Does the durability of the Gen 2 surpass that of the Gen 1? I often get accounts of the first generation finally experiencing leakage.

Excellent inquiry. Owners of Gen 2 vehicles with above 40,000 miles should respond, since this is often when Gen 1 shocks tend to have leaks.

The leakage of mine began at around 50,000 units. I eliminated them and opted for KW with a cancellation kit.

In 2019, I changed all four magnetic ride suspensions at a mileage of 40,000. Continuing with great endurance after an additional 20,000 units.
