I now reside in the Philippines and just acquired possession of my CX-90 vehicle.
The device is equipped with a 12.3-inch centre display; nevertheless, it does not possess touch functionality, even while operating in Android Auto or Apple CarPlay mode. Similar to the US model, there is no mention of the touch screen functionality in the Bluetooth menu.

Is it possible to enable this function via a software update?

Thank you for your response.

Thank you for providing the information. Indeed. I spoke with the dealer, who informed me that the touch screen functionality had been deactivated as a precautionary measure in light of safety considerations.
I am curious about the feasibility of using the touch screen functionality via a software update or by means of hacking.

Thank you for your response.

Typically, Mazda indicates that the touch screen functionality is off for the majority of its centre screen capabilities. However, it is worth noting that the touch screen feature remains operational for Apple CarPlay.
I would like need the assistance of a sales representative at your dealership to provide a demonstration on the operational functionalities of Apple CarPlay or its Android phone counterpart. In the presence of certain conditions, the touchscreen is expected to function properly.

To establish a connection between your CX-90 and your mobile device, use the Bluetooth functionality. Subsequently, go to Apple Carplay on your mobile device, which should then be projected into the central screen of the vehicle's interface. Once shown, you may interact with the Apple Carplay interface by using touch controls.

Alright, and has the dealership verified that this is a customary occurrence within your geographical area? If such is the case, it might be seen as a detriment. Was it suggested that the absence of touchscreen functionality may be a mandatory criterion for your country? Alternatively, it is possible that Mazda discourages drivers from using the touchscreen functionality.

Is there any knowledge available on the inclusion of a physical touch layer in all 12.3 inch panels across various markets? Based on my comprehension, it seems that in the United States, there are some trim levels, including the PHEV and 3.3 standard Premium, which are equipped with a 12-inch screen that lacks touch technology. If there has been prior discourse over the inclusion of touch technology in these devices, I am unaware of it. Undoubtedly, the absence of appropriate hardware poses a significant challenge in facilitating touch functionality, making it a more intricate process compared to a mere software activation.

I hold the perspective that, if the interface is well designed, I strongly favour the use of a controller over a touch screen. The device is characterised by enhanced safety and improved user-friendliness. Additionally, the absence of fingerprints and smudges on the screen contributes to a visually appealing and hygienic user experience. Particularly when used in conjunction with voice input.

Regardless, I hope that you are able to resolve this issue, Original Poster (OP).
