MDMH757
I removed the battery a few weeks ago to recharge it. Reinstalled with the apparatus positioned on top. Devoid of electrical power. No apparent authority to any entity. I wondered if I'd damaged the 'contraption' so re-checked today. In my particular vehicle, the piece seems to serve no use. I questioned if I had blown a main fuse; however, it seems that all fuses are located below the glovebox, and I am uncertain whether a 'main fuse' exists. The battery is functioning well. Do you have any recommendations?
paulh2602601
To my knowledge, all E90 models possess connections connected to the distribution board. Cables originate from transfer stations located directly in front of the battery.
MDMH757
A single minor cable connects to the front end of the battery; however, there is none connecting to the board itself in my case. Regardless of whether the board is attached, there is no electricity in the cabin.

paulh2602601
Typically exceeds that amount. Inspect the distribution point for corrosion and measure the voltage at the junction of the large red cable and the negative terminal of the battery. Subsequently, repeat the measurement using the other lead cable connected to the chassis, ensuring that the voltage remains consistent. DreamCatcher88
Typically, there are more wires than those seen above. In your first image at the top, does there seem to be a red cable? To what is it connected? I anticipated it would also be linked to the battery, since I believe it would provide power to your fuse board. Additionally, my vehicle has a slender cable that emerges next to the linked connection, which may sever if corrosion occurs due to moisture in the battery compartment. I am not asserting that your automobile has the cable, but you would have seen it when removing the battery.
NevoBMW320i
I have seen a similar item, but I am certain it had an additional cable attached to the bolt-type stud shown in your first image. Did you secure it out of the way, since it is quite cramped in that space?
NevoBMW320i
I saw that the distribution panel is designed to accommodate that bolt, indicating you likely own cables with plugs for connection. Remove the battery and restart the device, ensuring to inspect for any cords located behind it first.
