nickoyster4
Good day, everyone. Acquired this 2004 E60 featuring the 530i engine and 6HP19 transmission. Since acquiring it, I have experienced troubles that suggest the gears are slipping. I initially performed a service with new fluid, a pan, and a filter, which improved the situation significantly, however the issue persisted. Since last night, I have changed the four mechatronic sleeves, the double square seal, and the larger round seal. It has significantly improved, however it still occurs periodically; I am uncertain on what to examine or the subsequent steps to take. It occurs only once the automobile, engine, and gearbox have reached operating temperature. Attached is a YouTube video.

Starcar2022
I experienced something similar few years ago. The issue was identified as the lockup clutches within the torque converter. To verify this, I inserted two tubes of "DrTranny" from the bay into the automatic gearbox, which resolved the issue; however, I am uncertain about the duration of this fix, as I had a new torque converter installed. nickoyster4
Thank you for your response; I have opted to test the TC. Executing ISTA+ and overseeing the transmission Engine Velocity + Turbine Velocity Upon obtaining the TC to Lock, there exists merely a 4 RPM variance between them, which falls within acceptable limits; hence, I conclude that the clutches are functioning adequately. While awaiting the adjustments to resolve, engage in additional driving and observe their appearance. Other factors to consider include the solenoids and maybe the clutches for D, as these control gears 3 and 5; I will provide updates as I have modifications. I heard somewhere that DrTranny initially believed it was the beginning of a film. Indeed, some individuals expressed quite favourable opinions regarding the matter; I may consider attempting it if I am unable to resolve the issue. Starcar2022
I utilised the DrTranny on two vehicles to verify the lockup clutches. I have consistently experienced an allergy to automotive boxes, hence my engagement with them is limited. Please keep us informed on the outcome. nickoyster4
This is my first E60, albeit it is not my initial automobile. I previously had three E39s and never encountered any issues. I will acquire some of these later this week and provide an update, hopefully next week. What was the duration of the last two vehicles you owned? Starcar2022
Uncertain about its duration, although I have observed conflicting reports from the USA indicating both prolonged and brief effectiveness. I fitted a new turbocharger to my BMW, while I returned the Volkswagen to the dealership, so I have no knowledge of its condition. However, I heard through informal channels that the new owner was quite pleased with the vehicle.
