Looking to see if anyone knows much about Glenside Logistics from Belfast ?

I’ve been looking around for a small suv for my partner’s birthday and came across a pretty tempting ad on Gumtree from a company called Glenside Logistics listed a 2020 Hyundai Tucson premium at a noticeably lower price than average. They mention to offer a 10-day inspection or money-back guarantee, but I'm still feeling a bit on edge. Has anyone here ever bought from Glenside logistics before or heard anything about them?

I actually purchased a 2019 Peugeot 3008 from Glenside Logistics a few months ago it was my first time buying a repossessed car, and I was hesitant at first too. What convinced me was their 10 days return policy and that the payment went into a segregated holding account, not directly to the company.

Cheers mate, that’s really encouraging. How did you handle the payment was it just bank transfer, or did they have other options?

They only take bank transfers, but it’s through that segregated company account I mentioned. i double-checked with my solicitor first, and he said it’s covered under the new uk banking refund protection scheme since October 2024, banks have to refund victims of authorised payment scams up to £85,000 that gave me some peace of mind before sending the money.

My cousin is a lorry driver for Glenside Logistics, so I can vouch that they’re a real transport company. He’s been with them nearly two years, doing freight runs from Belfast to Bristol and Glasgow...

Not gonna lie, I’d still be careful the whole “pay upfront, get it delivered later” thing makes me nervous, I’ve seen too many stories where people get scammed like that. If they’re genuine, they should have no problem letting buyers visit their yard and view cars in person. always better to see what you’re paying for.

have to agree with @Starcar2022 on that. I checked their website last week when I saw one of their listings, and while it looked professional, there’s still that risk with long-distance deals, if something sounds too cheap, sometimes there’s a reason for it.

Just to balance things out I bought a 2021 VW Passat estate from Glenside in July. I spoke to a guy named Daniel there who explained everything in plain english he even sent me a photo of the logbook and hpi report before i paid.

I’d use them again without hesitation.

hey guys, i’m in a bit of a panic I bought a Audi a3 from Glenside Logistics last week, and it was supposed to arrive yesterday, just got a call saying there’s a 48-hour delay with their transport schedule.
Not sure if i should start worrying or just wait it out. has anyone else had similar delays?

@pharmoun, don’t stress too much mate. When I bought my 3008, the delivery was delayed by a couple of days too, their lorry had broken down somewhere near Cardif. My car eventually turned up on day 11, and everything was perfect sometimes these things just happen with multi-drop deliveries.

Thank you @DenishP4, you were right! The car showed up this morning, and it’s spot on the driver rang 20 minutes before arriving and helped me check the vehicle over. Everything matches the description exactly.
Definitely relieved now, appreciate the reassurance.

I almost went ahead with them myself last month for a Nissan juke, but decided to hold off because i couldn’t make it up to Belfast to view it in person
the person i spoke with was polite, no pressure or nonsense. They seemed upfront about everything, just not the type of setup I'm used to, reading this thread though, i might give them a try next time.

I never thought I would see a day when everyone on a forum is pleased with a company that delivers vehicles in good condition... usually, the discussions revolve around scams, misleading practices, and so on.

The Hyundai Tucson arrived this evening! driver phoned ahead to check access to my street, then helped unload the car and everything looks fantastic exactly like the photos, my partner’s over the moon.
Everyone thanks, it definitely helped me feel more confident about the whole process.
