W222 S350 EML & MAF

I had a local service repair my MAF sensor since the engine management light was lighted. EML arrived one or two days subsequent to their servicing. A Bosch replacement mass air flow sensor was used. Two days later, EML reappeared. It is suggested that there may be an incompatibility, necessitating the use of an MB unit.

I am beginning to question some statements for various reasons. I connected my ACME £9.99 code reader, which indicated a P0111 fault code, indicating an issue with the Intake Air Temperature Sensor 1 Circuit/Range.

Is the intake air temperature sensor integrated with the mass air flow sensor? Is it a distinct component?

Is there a potential that an error occurred during the service, resulting in the activation of the EML?

I am unfamiliar with the engine; but, all other models I have seen use a TMAF, which incorporates the intake temperature sensor. Disconnecting the MAF will validate the mistake indicating an open circuit in Air Temp Sensor 1.

What was the reason for the replacement of MAF?

Thank you. I believe that was the error code first interpreted by the garage. It seems that Bosch manufactures the Mercedes component, and while a Bosch part was used, it is nonfunctional. Indeed. Thank you for your assistance.

If the first problem pertained to the temperature sensor as well, I would not only attempt a replacement. I would first examine the wiring, connections, and do preliminary tests.

Temperature sensors function primarily as resistors, making them straightforward to test, analyse, and even mimic using a variable resistor.
Your inexpensive diagnostic instrument should also display the measured air temperature value.
