paulh2602601
The battery warning light illuminated around two months ago in my Peugeot 5008 diesel 1.6 HDi; nevertheless, it disappeared the next morning. I undertook two lengthy journeys totalling around 500 miles thereafter, but nothing went wrong. Two weeks after the first battery warning, I received it again. Replaced the alternator at a nearby mechanic the next day. The battery failed to charge. After one month, I received a battery warning two days ago; nonetheless, the battery was charging at 14.33V without load and 13.3V with the lights and blower activated. The next morning, the warning had disappeared. What will be the rationale behind that? Recommendations welcomed Thank you.
vitessear3
As you have not specified the precise issues that necessitated the alternator replacement. If the alternator failed due to the consumption of engine or other oils, it may subsequently harm the battery as a consequence. However, if the failure resulted from oil ingestion and the issue remains unaddressed, the replacement alternator would likely fail similarly to the previous one within a timeframe of one week to six months, dependent upon the volume of oil being introduced. paulh2602601
The mechanics did not specify the explanation for the issue; nonetheless, the engine exhibits an oil leak from the transmission side, while the alternator seems to be in pristine condition. Are there any reasons for the sporadic activation of the warning light while the battery continues to charge? Thank you for your response. vitessear3
Verify that the connections to the battery and alternator are secure. F3 is functioning well and is connected to 1031. Diagnostics, such as Lexia or equivalent devices, may indicate the source of the issue, although the recommendations are speculative at this juncture. vitessear3
Ensure that the positive terminal is live, avoid grounding, and disconnect any tools such as spanners or sockets that may touch metal (ground). Failure to do so may result in unintended welding, potentially damaging the ECU or modules.
