motorman3
Assistance required; my Mercedes E350 BlueEfficiency diesel estate fails to start in the morning. I insert the key, wait for the glow plug indicator to extinguish, and crank the key, but there is no response. Switch the key to the off position (without removing it), then turn it on to initiate ignition. No issues with starting occurred for the remainder of the day. Do you have any suggestions? nicebubby8
Do you have any error messages displayed on the dashboard? Can you read the codes via OBD2. It may be an issue with the immobiliser or the key; however, my recommendation is to read or have the codes read.
allmightyASTON
Have you replaced the batteries in the key?
KWILB
The key battery is unrelated to the ignition process.

allmightyASTON
I apologise, but the key for a Mercedes from this period is integral to the ignition process.
