The digital display on the dashboard is not functioning.

Recommended Posts

Greetings to everyone,
Seeking guidance.
2001 Mini One R50 model.

The LCD section of the speedometer and tachometer is not displaying, as depicted in the images.
Having no prior experience with this model, I have worked on several R56 Ones and Coopers. Is there a footwell module or another typical issue associated with this, similar to the R56s?

The tachometer and speedometer are operational; I have attempted to disconnect and reconnect the tachometer.

Any guidance on potential sources would be valued.
Thank you

Disabling the odometer display function using the diagnostic tool is erroneous due to my inadvertent selection of the incorrect menu option in English. I committed this error, resulting in my two little screens illuminating orange without providing any further information. I lack a reprogramming tool, so I am unable to restart the function.

This is evidently a situation involving a malfunctioning deactivation of a function within the display module, and unless this option is reactivated through the diagnostic tool (diagnostics/programming), both screens will remain illuminated in orange without presenting any data. Regrettably, without a reprogramming tool (ISTA, Autologic, or a comparable device), it is unfeasible to restore the odometer to operational status independently. The sole remedy is to visit a MINI garage or a BMW/MINI specialist capable of reactivating the function in the appropriate module. Fortunately, the procedure is expeditious and involves merely a code adjustment.

Indeed, it is a straightforward coding problem: an option inside the display module was inadvertently deactivated, and unless it is restarted using a diagnostic tool, the panels will persist in displaying an orange hue without any information. Regrettably, without a programming tool such as ISTA or a comparable device, you are unable to rectify the issue independently. A MINI garage or BMW specialist can restore the function within minutes by adjusting the appropriate code setting.
