But another thread about heater fans

Please be patient with me as I attempt to resolve an unusual problem with a brand new 1994 hard dash.

After the PO replaced the heater/ac resistor pack, the air conditioner started blowing cool air and, more critically, responded normally to the speed controls ("I" for slow and "III" for fast).

Unfortunately, when the fascia vent controls (the vertical slider on the left side of the heater) are adjusted to the bottom setting, which is red "0," the heater fan stops working.
The heating fan operates at its fastest speed on position "I" and its slowest speed on position "III" when the same slider is set to the top position.

Presumably, someone rearranged the wiring? However, when the fascia vent selection is set to zero, why is the heater fan not working?

It seems to me that the speed dial sends a signal to the resistor pack, which in turn sends it back to the ac/heater selector, which determines whether the heater fan or the ac fan, or both, receives the resistor-modulated current.

Even though I'm familiar with the P38 system and can read LR wiring diagrams with relative ease, the only excellent ones seem to be for the soft dash and later models.
