r 2025 CX-90 (built in December 2024) hasn't experienced any battery problems. Although I'm sorry to hear that yours failed, the battery guarantee should still cover quite a bit of time. According to service bulletin SA-018/25, Mazda will cover the hybrid batteries for 8 years or 80,000 miles on the MHEV. Even without the extra coverage specified in the advisory, it would have been covered beyond the drivetrain guarantee for 7 years / 70,000 miles if you reside in one of the approximately 20 states that follow California emissions requirements. See the warranty handbook for further information. On the underside of the engine, you won't find any parts that need servicing. For example, the timing chain is one of those mechanical components that is supposed to endure the lifetime of the car, but if it were to fail, it would necessitate costly engine-out repairs. When it comes to other Skyactiv engines, the timing chains and guides from Mazda usually last 200,000 miles or more with regular oil changes. In order to change the timing chain on many cars, you have to take the engine cover off. Not exclusive to Mazda inline sixes, and it seems a bit hypocritical, if not exaggerated, to make a huge fuss about it like a certain famous YouTuber did.

It is really appreciated. By the way, has the mild hybrid battery ever given you any trouble? I absolutely adore my brand new SPP that I purchased in October 2024. It has 50,000 miles on the odometer and the dealer had to replace the mild hybrid battery, but it was a reconditioned one. Other than that, the car is great. However, moving forward, any engine maintenance will incur significant costs due to the fact that everything is located on the engine's underside. -

You can find it on NGK's part lookup page; however, you will need to search for 2024 as they have not yet uploaded Mazda information for 2025 or after. Additionally, you can find them listed on Rock Auto for $10.84 apiece. About 25% of Mazda’s price.

Please tell me the correct NGK component number for these spark plugs; I can't seem to find a way to compare the OEM Mazda plug to any NGK product or receive accurate information.

No one, even Mercedes, has ever explained to me why the genuine article is superior. The same folks who make aftermarket parts also make the "original" parts. The components provide the true rationale. Miniature integrated circuits and discrete bits make up a sensor. With a yield of 99%, the majority of components in semiconductor manufacture are within tight specifications, while the remaining few are not. The leftovers are either resold to aftermarket vendors or kept by the "original" maker but marketed under a different name at a lower price. In most cases, these components that aren't up to code will still work, but they won't hold up as well when exposed to extremes of temperature or voltage. This issue manifests in all electrical devices. Resistors are available in a wide range of tolerances, with wider ones being less expensive. Some of them sell them instead of throwing them away, like Intel and other major semiconductor manufacturers. The manufacturing process inherently results in certain components being outside of tolerance, regardless of whether Mercedes has its own facility.

Carsoft has detected a signal, therefore I am hesitant to confront it quite now. The strange thing is that it occasionally registers such drastically different wheel speeds.

Since I did not unplug the sensor from the chassis harness before removing it and the signal remained after turning the wheel, I would presume that the problem is not with the connecting cable. Upon reinsertion, a signal is detected, leading me to believe that the sensor is operational. However, I should probably test it with a different sensor just to rule out the possibility that the original one is producing inaccurate results.

Once again, here we are. Before installing the new front right-hand sensor, I cleaned the large plug that connects to the ABS unit and the chassis connector that the sensor wires go into. For approximately twenty miles, everything is OK. Now I'm experiencing the same issue as previously (ABS warning lights, etc.), and I had a strange sensation when braking, as if the ABS were partially engaged, but it has since gone. Even when the vehicle is not in motion, the front right wheel speed fluctuates greatly when using iCarsoft to monitor wheel speeds. Its shifting speed can drop from 120 kmph to 0.6! Upon coming to a complete stop, the values of the other wheels become nearly zero and remain constant, while the front right wheel will erratically fluctuate between fifteen, seven, twenty, six, etc., before finally settling on the same number as the others. Is it the sensor or a faulty connection somewhere? Have you any suggestions? I am grateful.
