Rudy7831
PHEV Premium Plus Could someone elucidate the operational mechanism of Daytime Running Lights (DRL)? Checking the DRL box on the Infotainment Console doesn't appear to accomplish anything. Are the headlights activated as daytime running lights rather than the slender LEDs in the grille? My headlights activate during daylight while the light switch is set to AUTO. I assumed the thin white LEDs in the grill were the DRLs and serve as amber indication. DreamCatcher88
Same with the UK model, both the thin lights and the LED (headlights) on at the same time
Rudy7831
What a poor design. Every day I learn something I despise about this automobile. The arrangement is expected to be reversed.
another_clean_sheet
I just looked at mine and snapped a couple of shots. The first one is with lights on 'auto'. My understanding is they are the daytime running lights, and - sure - the tall one in the grill serves as amber indication. The second shot is when I switch on the headlights. This is my second CX60, and I am certain the first one was identical.
DreamCatcher88
Just went out to look at mine. In both the auto and headlights-on settings, I see the identical behaviour as shown in your second image. I tried every configuration but could not replicate the illumination in your first image. It is possible that there has been an enhancement in the newer models, and the first image illustrates their intended functionality.
DreamCatcher88
I Thought I had best write an update on this, as I have now learnt that it is the leaving home lights that are switching on the headlights while in auto mode. This occurs when you enter the automobile and turn the ignition on. While seated in the vehicle, I saw the headlights deactivate after about 15 seconds, leaving just the daytime running lights on. While you may manually override the system by activating the headlights, in auto mode, the headlights will automatically turn off after the designated leaving home light duration concludes. Rudy7831
Are we talking about the same Trim here? shows the corner LED glowing which I assume is exclusive on the Inline 6 devices. My OP refers to the CX-70 PHEV Premium Plus, for which Mazda has already included faux lighting in the rear lid section of the tail lights and the front corner of the headlights. So is it that these DRL only functions as predicted for the Inline 6 models?
another_clean_sheet
Hi - I have the PHEV, the lights on my new 24 model appear to be exactly the same as my 22 one. I have no concerns; I believe they are the finest lights on any vehicle I have owned.
