Replacement of garnish or body side moulding

Recommended Posts

Hello! I own a 2024 CX-90 TS in metallic grey and am really fond of my vehicle! Regrettably, I struck a rock, resulting in the detachment of the lower railing, guard, or garnishing on the passenger side; I apologise for my uncertainty about the terminology. Does anybody has expertise with this material? Is this repairable by us? I would appreciate any thoughts or advice on the procurement of OEM parts, including relevant part numbers.

Thank you in advance!

The lower door side skirts are not available in the online parts catalogue; it is advisable to visit the dealership. There are rocker panels located underneath that are affixed to the chassis as well. Most plastic components should include an engraved part number on the back side. The blue clips or rivets seen in your final image likely slip into the skirts and are then driven into the door panels. Consider acquiring fresh clips if they are not included. Refer to examples; the component may be incorrect.

Not at this time! It was necessary to engage the insurance. The undercarriage sustained little damage, and the estimate was elevated. Currently engaged in discussions with the insurance agent and the auto body shop.

No other information! The images depict the side body moulding (garnish) and minor damage to the undercarriage, which is twisted and impeding the rear passenger door. I reside in Salt Lake City, where extensive development activities are underway. Regrettably, it was a substantial boulder!

I trust you have applied some kind of paint protection. It would be disappointing to see faults in the paint early on due to proximity to several building sites.

PPF in essential areas is really beneficial.
