MotoGravity
Hello... I have seen many postings on paint matching, but none have appeared lately. I purchased Oxford Green '324' for my '94 E34 from eBay, but it is very light. Is anybody aware of a reputable aftermarket supply of aerosol paint? Thank you
Doncaster34
The issue is that the car's paint is 31 years old and has deteriorated over time. Consequently, any seller of the purportedly accurate paint in a spray can will always be somewhat inaccurate. It is essential to locate a local supplier or mixer capable of use electronic technology to accurately assess the panels on the vehicle, ensuring a precise match that incorporates the nuances of old shading. MotoGravity
Thank you for the information. I am not too concerned about a little discrepancy; but, this colour is much lighter than the original paintwork. I would have assumed that if the paint has faded, the reverse would be true. Nonetheless, I will continue my hunt... 👍
WolfieBase
Paint may darken. Modern vehicles possess a clear coat layer over the colour coat, which is susceptible to fading. This clear coat may yellow with time, particularly on lighter-colored vehicles, resulting in a darker appearance of the entire paint job. HOV
Certain locations will amalgamate batches according to manufacturers' documentation. Provide them with your VIN, and they will return a dozen cans formulated to the same specifications as the original; but, as previously said, they cannot account for ageing. Typically approaches rather closely.
