MotoGravity Posted 1 hour ago Share Posted 1 hour ago Greetings, everybody. I am seeking guidance. For the most part, my 2018 20d x1 has been experiencing gearbox problems. Strength training. Slamming every known problem with the 8-speed Aisin gearbox. It has been serviced by a gearbox expert today and is covered by the dealer's warranty. Their assessment is that the gearbox requires disassembly and reconstruction. Can we trust this repair? I was hoped this vehicle could make it to 80,000 miles. It has barely done 40,000 so far. MDMH757 Posted 1 hour ago Share Posted 1 hour ago Any respectable auto box specialist worth their salt would have worked on Aisin gearboxes in the past, and they should also be familiar with the problems that the BMW variation has, so I don't see why this repair can't be relied upon.
