xsports
Greetings, everybody. I have much enjoyed evaluating the new CX90. I intended to purchase a new CX90 Turbo S. Currently, I have noticed that Mazda has been distributing incorrect oil filters. The correct filter should be a SH01-14-302A, but it seems that someone has mistakenly replaced it with a smaller filter both at Mazda and WIX. I have seen reports of a recall of steering racks, faulty mild hybrid lithium batteries, and several individuals already pursuing legal remedies under their respective state lemon laws. This vehicle has been in use for a short duration of just a few months. I have never seen such a calamitous sequence of problems, with the exception of maybe Ford. Mazda has invested considerable time and effort in establishing a reputation for producing high-quality vehicles. In my experience, technicians at car dealerships, regardless of the brand, have often been a source of concern. However, it is particularly troubling when they are unable to provide the correct size of an oil filter, and this incorrect information continues to circulate on the internet. This situation indicates a more significant problem. Regarding the issues mentioned, such as leaky rear differentials, paint chips, steering rack recalls, and faulty mild hybrid batteries that are now on back order until June... As a result, I have decided to cancel my transaction. I will periodically revisit, but this is a significant letdown in the post-modern sense. Expressing disappointment or sadness. nicebubby8
Have you seen the debut of Toyota's latest iteration of the Grand Highlander?
xsports
I am now searching, but, Toyota is also seeing a decline in quality or popularity. A 4-cylinder hybrid, in comparison to an inline 6 or V8, lacks the enjoyable driving experience. A portion of this catastrophe may be attributed to the political factors influencing the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NTSA), which undoubtedly had a part in implementing the imprudent 'accident prevention' system in Mazda vehicles, which has already shown instances of erroneous overrides. These cars need the removal of the majority of this clutter. While the Mazda engine and gearbox seem to be in good condition, the other components of the vehicle are in a state of disarray. honeycut_mazda5
Considering all the issues you described, they may all be resolved within a day if the dealerships had skilled service personnel and, in some instances, the necessary components. I believe that Mazda is improving and becoming more efficient in these repairs, without being too optimistic. I own a Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV) and it has never been left overnight at the dealership. There have been a couple improvements and the ride has been consistently reliable for 9000 miles. Avoid the PHEV (my dealer concurs).
torque2me
Mazda has achieved higher sales of CX-90 vehicles in its first year than the highest sales record of CX-9 vehicles in any given year. Since its debut, Mazda has sold a total of 40,805 units of the CX-90. Most customers have not had significant or even mild problems. If you believe that Mazda is presently experiencing negative energy, I suggest you examine the recalls and cessation of sales in other brands as well. Each automobile has its own set of problems.  https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/mazda-reports-record-december-sales-and-full-year-2023-sales-results-302025443.html  https://news.mazdausa.com/2024-04-02-Mazda-Reports-March-Sales-Results
honeycut_mazda5
I concur, mostly. MHEV has undergone relatively minimal modifications, but PHEV has not fared as well. Only time will reveal the truth.
MotoGravity
I was on the verge of publishing when I unexpectedly came upon this. I am in need of a spacious SUV to replace my present 2012 Q5, and it seems that the Mazda CX90 or CX70 would be suitable for my requirements.I can forgo the usage of the 3rd row, but if necessary, I can easily fold it down and use it just if needed. Having thoroughly reviewed all the problems they have had, I am quite apprehensive about taking the risk. While I get that these concerns may arise due to the novelty of these products, it is somewhat alarming. I was contemplating the PHEV option, however I am apprehensive about seeing the troublesome hybrid error notice. Among the three vehicles I test drove, namely the CX90 PHEV, Palisade, and Pilot, the Mazda stood out as the superior choice in terms of driving pleasure. The Palisade has superior technological features, offers a smoother ride, but its general dependability is subpar. Neither they provide hybrids nor does Honda. I was also considering a Toyota GH Hybrid MAX, but they are very rare to come across, and when you do locate one, the price increases are exorbitant. Do you still believe it would be advisable to purchase one now or should we wait till all the problems have been resolved? Would the CX70 (without a 3rd row) PHEV be my preferred choice? FireCar
It would be advantageous for you to exercise patience and wait for a 2025 model year. It seems that the majority of these issues will be resolved by that time.
johnnyb44
Indeed, the first year of the CX-90 is plagued by a multitude of issues, both documented and undocumented. The MHEV seems to have fewer issues, however its performance will ultimately be contingent upon the specific characteristics of your vehicle. The majority of CX-90 vehicles have performed well and have seen few issues, with the exception of Technical Service Bulletins (TSB) and recalls that may be applicable to your specific Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). If your CX-90 encounters any issues, they will need attention and resolution. Certain merchants excel in this regard. By exercising patience, it is likely that the subsequent model year will exhibit improvements, as has been the historical trend, however it is important to note that unforeseen issues may still arise. Several recent automobile models from different manufacturers have had a number of issues. Will the CX-70 surpass the 2024 CX-90 in terms of performance and features? The introduction of a new model has left everyone unaware once again. Due to my need for 6 or 7 seats to accommodate guests, the CX-70 would not be suitable for me. Each individual must assess if a vehicle is suitable for their needs. Prices vary based on the specific model levels and powertrain options. In frigid climates, the Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) has challenges with battery range, necessitating a switch to standard hybrid mode while the battery warms up. However, the electric vehicle's range is limited to just 30 miles. Therefore, it is suitable for shorter excursions as long as you have the ability to recharge the vehicle every night, either at home or at work. Standard petrol is suitable for all CX-90 vehicles.
