My recommendation is a more recent generation MINI with a warranty if that's what you're after. Posts regarding the R56 and problems encountered by users thus far can be found in this thread. MINIs usually need servicing. Personally, I would look into something else if dependability and cheap maintenance are your highest priorities. But if you're handy around the house and don't mind fixing the typical problems with these cars, they're great fun to own. If that isn't the case, maybe we should reconsider.
