NevoBMW320i
Thanks for having me, everyone. The Serpentine Belt on my X3 broke, and I have been unable to locate a replacement that would work with my vehicle's powerplant. The one I got from Euro Car Parts, which should have worked since it matched the VIN, turned out to be much too lengthy (6pk2080). I've included some illustrations of the engine and pulley arrangement, but I've been unable to locate any internet illustrations that are a close match. The Alternator is located beneath the right side of my engine, while the Power Steering Pump is located on the top right. The line sketch has a similar arrangement, but the alternator and steering pump have been switched. The tension pulley has been flipped to the top. allmightyASTON
The final seven digits of the chassis number may be used to determine the correct component number on realoem.com.
NevoBMW320i
I recently looked out the website, and unfortunately the 2080 belt I attempted to use was too long. Please tell me if there's another method to figure out what belt size I need.
xsports
Is the belt really routed in the right direction?
NevoBMW320i
Same as the line pick above, it went around all the pulleys and the tensioner, but it was still at least a foot too long. It's too lengthy - we tried it this way, too.
paulh2602601
Like this, then? Don't worry about the bottom pulley so close to the alternator.
xsports
Find out whether the pulley for your air conditioner uses its own belt or not.
NevoBMW320i
The air conditioner uses its own, independent, four-ribbed belt that lacks a tensioner wheel; I'll give your diagram a try tomorrow.
vitessear3
If that's how you're supposed to wear the belt, your illustration would be inaccurate.

NevoBMW320i
Thank you everybody for your responses. The problem was actually with the routing. Since the 2080 belt was broken, I couldn't tell which way it looped, but the illustration below was quite helpful.
xsports
I drew one of my vehicles and hid it under the ecu cover in case someone ever asked, haha.
