Car is all tuned up and new to me!
Needsnewtyres2 replied to Needsnewtyres2's topic in General Car Chat
I omitted the mention of the oil change since it is considered to be an inherent expectation. I do not see Costco as a cost-effective alternative. Interstate batteries are available for purchase at quite competitive costs, and my personal experiences with them have been consistently positive. The battery donuts are quite commendable. Utilize them throughout all of my possessions. I intend to purchase the battery and conduct a preliminary evaluation in a controlled environment prior to its installation in the vehicle. I own a load tester and charger. The glove compartment had the original owner's manual and other items enclosed inside a black zipped bag. The vehicle was equipped with factory-installed wheel locking, and the registration documents issued by Mazda were included with the owner's handbook. The presence of wheel locks was seen, however no immediate cognitive processing occurred. I am now experiencing some concerns about the security of the key. I need to inspect the lug wrench. According to the instructions, the indicated location is likely to be correct. -

Unfortunately. Cease the production of logical coherence. It will result in immediate cost savings. I appreciate your guidance. -

I acknowledge your statement. I am inclined to save expenses by opting for the replacement of coil packs rather than investing in costly diagnostic procedures. At the very least, completing the task would result in its timely resolution and removal from the list of pending matters. -

Your response is logical and the concept of mileage is also comprehensible. Based on my current salary of 142,000 dollars, I have a skeptical view on any potential alterations that may have been made. I will include those items in the list. (in addition to the newly installed electrical cables) -
Yesterday, I acquired a 2002 P5 vehicle and started the process of mentally enumerating its requirements and the corresponding actions I must do. The vehicle's mileage now stands at 142,000 miles. One potential issue is the battery, since it exhibits a little decrease in rotational speed. The individual from whom I acquired the vehicle said that it has been inactive for around five months. The second step would include doing a tune-up, which includes replacing spark plugs, wires, and filters. I would want to inquire if it is advisable to change the coils. How can one determine whether or not an item need replacement? Upon observing several instructional videos on the popular online platform YouTube, I must assert that I have not seen an engine that is as straightforward to manipulate and repair as the one shown. Let us modify the first item by emphasizing the need for thorough cleaning.

I am in possession of a 2009 528 ix vehicle, which exhibits similar behavior. In the event of cold weather, no difficulties arise. Once the temperature rises, I have a problem with its activation. I am still able to acquire the BMW vehicle, but, I am required to do a reset procedure. Despite this, there are instances when the vehicle fails to start.

I had a similar situation on my own. Adjust the rear seat back rests to a lower position and thereafter restore them to their original position in a hard and decisive manner. That resolved the issue with the rattling sound. Additionally, it is advisable to inspect the warning triangle for any signs of looseness. In my personal experience, I encountered a loose warning triangle and resolved the issue by applying strips of 1mm self-adhesive rubber to the area where the triangle is positioned.

The lack of information on their workflow and quality control systems raises concerns.

I am now in search of purchasing an additional Range Rover Sport; nevertheless, it has come to my attention that a majority of dealerships impose a supplementary "market adjustment" charge onto the listed price. Is there anybody who is aware of a dealership that offers Range Rover Sports for sale without the additional premium?

The current pricing of the L460 model.

Indeed, it is accurate to state that the dealership did not own any long wheelbase (LWB) vehicles at the time. However, it is worth noting that out of the four short wheelbase (SWB) vehicles present on the premises, two of them were equipped with V8 engines. The individual has lately acquired a Black/Black All-Terrain Bike with a Short Wheelbase (ATB SWB) and has made contact with me to inform me of this acquisition. -

I am astounded by the revelation that dealerships persist in attempting to impose prices beyond the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP), particularly in relation to some prominent listings that indicate markups ranging from 20,000 to 40,000 dollars over the MSRP. A limited number of dealerships in Toronto, Canada were seen to have imposed prices over the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) around 6-12 months ago, but with a relatively low prevalence. However, in the present day... There are reports circulating that suggest a significant number of automobile dealers have placed orders for vehicles that remain unclaimed on their lots. The observed disparity in market dynamics prompts empathy for individuals who incur expenses above the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP), since the prevailing market conditions have evidently undergone a transformation in the local context. -
It seems that the issue may be related to the fuse of the head unit. It is noteworthy that a malfunctioning head unit might result in a multitude of issues. It is possible that the automobile may have aftermarket components connected to the same fuse, leading to potential confusion over the Controller Area Network (CAN) or the ability of the car to accommodate such modifications.

Thanks for the support, but you've just confirmed my worst fears. Having driven the same vehicle for the last nine years, I was ready for a change and wanted a vehicle with greater cargo space, so I sold it and bought a 2012 Mazda 3 hatchback equipped with brand-new tires last week. Especially in terms of fuel economy, it has well above my expectations, and I want to keep it for at least 9 more years, exactly like the Mazda6. On Monday, we sold our Mazda6, and we were sad to see it go since we had come to rely on its reliability and comfort. Since the cost of fixing a vehicle with 190,000 miles on it would very probably exceed the automobile's current market worth, I decided against putting in the time and effort required.

Recently, on the first drive of each day, my 2003 Mazda6 has had trouble properly engaging in first gear. When I first start the vehicle, it backs out of the driveway without a hitch in R, but when I switch to D, it doesn't engage and slides; as a result, I have to let it idle for a while before it will begin to crawl forward; then, I may apply the throttle to accelerate, or move up to second gear, as needed. In two to three minutes, it moves normally, and I have no problems with it for the rest of the day. Three times already, despite the correct fluid levels, the AT warning light has illuminated, disappearing only when the vehicle was restarted. My car only starts in Park approximately half the time, and I'm wondering whether the problem lies with the transmission range sensor, which presumably fails to detect when the vehicle is in gear and hence fails to electrically engage the appropriate gear. I have a spare sensor, but I'm not sure whether installing it would fix the problem with first gear or the one with starting the engine. However, I just cannot tolerate the ongoing problem with first gear. Thanks

Only by eliminating the original smell can ozone be effective. The carpets, headliners, seats, dashboard, and sometimes even the cabin air filter may need to be thoroughly cleaned. It will be much more effective to use ozone, febreeze, dryer sheets, baking soda, or vinegar (put a few cups/bowls inside the room and leave them there for the night) once that has been accomplished.

Why is it so hard to find oil filters for engines?
Needsnewtyres2 replied to Needsnewtyres2's topic in General Car Chat
The part about the free service makes some sense. I've never used that service because the closest store is 30 minutes from home and 45 minutes from work, and Saturday is the only day I could get there. If I didn't, I'd have to drive down there at night to drop it off and have someone pick me up, and then I'd have to do it all over again the next day. Just for me, saving $45 and the 30 minutes it takes me to do it at home isn't worth the trouble. Two people would have to drive 120 miles and more than two hours to drop off a car and pick it up the next day. -
Why is it so hard to find oil filters for engines?

Just a quick note. I have always performed the preponderance of maintenance and services on my vehicles, including hundreds of oil changes, for the past 30 years. It amazes me how difficult it is to locate an engine oil filter for my 2020 Sonata 2.5L. This is a fairly common automobile, and there are many of them on the road; it is not an exotic or uncommon vehicle. Throughout the years, it has been uncommon for me to be unable to locate an oil filter for one of my vehicles in a local autoparts store. Here is a list of weekend events: Autozone - the nearest stocking store was 40 miles distant. There are no Advance Auto Parts in stock within 50 miles. The O'Reillys website stated that the item was available at the local store, but when I went there they could not locate it. Called the next-closest location where the website also indicated they had one, but they were unable to locate it there either. According to the website, the nearest NAPA store was 30 miles distant. Walmart - no inventory, three-day dispatch I had previously attempted to order a 3-pack online, but I kept receiving the incorrect part (complete spin-on style filters instead of cartridge replacements). Be wary of Amazon's generic, no-name filters. Ordered a Wix from O'Reilly's and received it the following day. Although it is not a significant issue, I still find it peculiar. -
Vehicle inspections before buying

No, they are just in Reading; anyway, to reach to any other part of the continent, I would need to take a boat or a flight. I've been keeping an eye on their eBay website for a sale, but not specifically for a vehicle. Have you ever utilised a car inspection service? -

Yes, issue is I'm in Northern Ireland and wanting to buy from the mainland. If they send me a report detailing faults if any I can still make a decision from that. -
Hello, which of the many pre-purchase vehicle inspectors, RAC/Click Mechanic/carexamer/AA would you recommend? apologies beforehand
