  1. Well, they said that none of the Japanese Toyotas ever had a canbus, so that's pretty much it 😙
  2. For hours, I have been searching everywhere on Google... Nothing comes up, and I can't locate any decoders that are compatible with JDMA. So, based on the AI response above... Could the "connected" state be toggled by choosing the protocol? It seems to reason that the correct decoder would still display "connected" regardless of the protocol choice. Can someone explain this to me?
  3. I am grateful. It was determined that it was not a JPN matching decoder after trying copilot as well. Even after attempting several protocols, nothing worked...
  4. To replace the Japanese-locked device, the dealer fitted an Android one. The controls for the steering wheel and air conditioning are operational. Having said that, the canbus disconnect option is there in the device's factory settings. I understand that choosing Canbus is necessary. Since I was unsure which provider to choose, I looked through all of the options until I realised that chr was one of the models. However, the message "connected canbus" persists even after I choose it. Am I overlooking anything? Every bit of information would be helpful because I am completely new to this. Even though I used Google extensively, I still have no idea how to properly search for this new information.
  5. Just curious as to why they automatically turn on at some points along the road but not at others; I'm not driving anywhere that requires them. Joined this community because the people here are so helpful and willing to share what they know.
  6. I wouldn't consider this a "need" or even notice its absence as I've never had a car with this feature before. Having said that, I'm more interested in knowing whether other CX-30 owners have experienced intermittent issues with this function. On occasion, the auto-bright feature performs exactly as I would anticipate it to under ideal conditions; this occurs on the same route night after night, with the same street illumination and everything. On other occasions, the lights don't automatically switch on. One possible explanation is that the 25 mph speed limit in this gated community is not high enough to activate the technology. Like I said before, I'm used to manually switching between low and high beams when needed, so this isn't a huge concern for me. Nonetheless, I find it intriguing.
  7. When we compare plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) that rely on their batteries for the entire, relatively short trip to HEVs that do their own thing when driving on mixed-length excursions, I feel like we're comparing apples and oranges.
  8. There are "issues" here, but there are also "issues" with H/K. For example, my neighbor's New Santa Fe (a copycat of the Defender) was in the shop for over 60 days. The length of time he spent in a loaner caught my eye. One of my favourite things about Mazda is how unique their designs are.Regardless of what H/K does, it always seems like they're copying someone else.
  9. The sound is similar to the typical disk-stuck pads. For my part, it's becoming worse. (due to the persistent rain) The brakes likely require maintenance, therefore I was wondering when the last time the automobile was serviced was.
  10. The task should be very straightforward, provided the axle carrier does not obstruct the removal of the exhaust and propshaft. However, I am uncertain about the costs, as they can vary significantly; it is advisable to obtain multiple quotes.
  11. The urgency of the repair is contingent upon the extent of the leakage; if the staining is minimal, it may be addressed at a later time, but if the stained area is substantial, it is advisable to undertake the repair promptly. The movement of the drive shafts is the reason they have a finite lifespan.
  12. There are three seals: one for the input from the propshaft and two for the left and right drive shafts. You will need to inspect to determine which one is leaking.
  13. What is your location in London? I am aware of several contacts you can reach out to, depending on your location.
  14. I also terminated my contract with RAC due to the exorbitant renewal charge. They presented me with the choice of their complimentary "pay as you go" service. I can still receive a RAC callout in the event of a breakdown, albeit at an elevated fee, without a monthly subscription. Ultimately, they offered the most economical auto insurance, leading me to include my coverage with them. My insurance is due in a few weeks, and I have not experienced a breakdown thus far this year. Completely insured and no expenses incurred!
