  1. Observe the duration of her gaze on her phone in contrast to her attention on the road. It is located in the states, although...
  2. Direct excerpt from the E Class handbook: "Vehicles equipped with a diesel particulate filter: if the vehicle is predominantly operated over short distances, malfunctions may arise during the automatic regeneration of the diesel particulate filter." This may result in fuel accumulation in the engine oil, potentially leading to engine failure. Consequently, if you regularly drive small distances, you ought to undertake a 20-minute journey on a freeway or rural road at least every 500 kilometres. It is essential to sustain a continuous speed, avoiding stop-and-go driving in urban areas; thus, the preference for motorways or rural roads.
  3. I almost went ahead with them myself last month for a Nissan juke, but decided to hold off because i couldn’t make it up to Belfast to view it in person the person i spoke with was polite, no pressure or nonsense. They seemed upfront about everything, just not the type of setup I'm used to, reading this thread though, i might give them a try next time.
  4. I have selected the carbon edition in Alpine Grey. I aimed to avoid a very "boy racer" appearance, although the grey contrasting with the black mirrors is quite appealing.
  5. Thank you for the kind reception. I will certainly share them if and when it occurs. 🤣
  6. One might expect a prompt construction date, given that I am the sole purchaser. 🤣
  7. I have paid a fully refundable deposit of £500 to the dealership; yet, you are correct in essence. I have ordered perhaps eight or nine new construction vehicles in my experience, but it has never been like this. Remarkably peculiar!
  8. I recently placed a deposit on a new C63s, targeting a delivery date in March. I find it peculiar that I must wait for a VIN assignment (build date issuance) before I can finalise financing arrangements. I completed it prior to the conclusion of September due to the favourable offers; yet, this seems to be inconsequential. I have been informed that the assignment of the build date may require several months. Has anyone lately placed an order for a C63 and can provide insight into their timelines? Yes, I acknowledge that the new C63 is inferior to its predecessor, preemptively addressing any potential criticism. 🙂
  9. As said, remove the fuse just in case.
  10. Mercs are among the easiest vehicles for wire kit installation. Dash mount cameras may also be purchased and used via the 12v socket. Minimal visible wiring. 👍 Installation typically costs £80. No cables!
  11. They do not freeze in winter, nor do they extend, damage the motor, or destroy anything while attempting to operate.
  12. I believe it is a caliper piston gaiter; the piston gaiter fits into its designated groove right above the fluid seal. Corrosion on the outside of this groove compresses the gaiter against the piston, resulting in it being stuck. Remove the piston and the gaiter, then clean the groove and the fluid seal groove. It is rather difficult to reinsert the gaiter.
  13. I consistently charge to 100% to avoid being unprepared for an unexpected adventure that need full range. I assert that the battery management mechanism preserves a buffer to prevent overcharging. If charging to 100% posed a significant risk, Kia would have implemented measures to proactively alert us.
  14. Thank you. I was concerned that a shorter measurement may provide inaccurate results, but I appreciate the clarification. It may take several days for it to reach in New Zealand, at a minimum.
  15. Indeed, I should and will likely need a scanner at some point. For the time being, I will use a temperature gun to target it.
  16. I have confirmed that it is really 1220 mm in length. Hooray.Caused me concern momentarily.
  17. Thank you. Assuming it is the proper length, should it register between 10 and 12 degrees? I should verify that it is 1220 long, since I recall seeing a measurement in the 900 range, despite it listing my wagon.
  18. Hello again, I am unable to resolve this issue; but, how can I ascertain the appropriate amount of ATF required for my transmission? If I immerse my dipstick into the tube before to a drain and refill to the same level post-drain, how can one ascertain the accuracy of the amount? The dipstick I have ordered is an aftermarket model with increments of 10, 20, 30, 40, etc., however it provides no useful information. I cannot just pour in 6 or 7 liters and assume that is accurate. Does the authentic Merc dipstick possess the accurate high/low measurements, or need I consult a dealer for proper measurement? Any feedback is once again welcomed. Thank you 04 C180K 722.6 Box
  19. Approximately one month ago, I replaced all the brake pads and the rear brake shoes, in addition to substituting the front offside wheel with the spare from the boot, as it became slightly distorted after traversing a large pothole in Italy, which still requires repair. It may also be prudent to verify the continuity of the sensor before investing in new sensors, which I believe are Hall Effect type, while the rear utilizes a gear tooth pickup type sensor.
  20. I was lucky to locate an individual with an Icarsoft V3 code reader; the two front sensors need replacement, which will occur once I get them. Thank you to all correspondents for their assistance.
  21. I measured the voltage when the engine was operational; it varies between 14.17 and 14.2 volts, and it is 12.2 volts when the engine is off.
  22. I had not considered examining it; I will need to reassess, but removing the rear panel in the trunk of an S-Class is somewhat cumbersome.
  23. Would a voltage of 12.27V between the battery terminals in the trunk affect the operation of the wheel sensors? I have noticed in my handbook that one should verify the battery voltage when experiencing issues with wheel sensors. Has anybody seen this recommendation?
