  1. It is worth mentioning that this vehicle previously had an aftermarket alarm installed, which was uninstalled prior to my ownership.
  2. @BENZE220AMG Thank you. I have been informed that there is a possibility of circuit board failure, thus I have obtained an additional one as a contingency measure. The cable you mentioned, which seems brown or red, is really black and red. I have not yet followed its path, but according to the schematics, it is connected to the tail lights. Tomorrow, I will inspect the tail lights, which function well when the lights are off but have not been tested with them on.
  3. Thank you both. Yes, there were exposed brown ground lines below. I am curious whether the previous owner had this issue and it has already been resolved. Meanwhile, I have purchased an additional cluster from Rob P as a backup in case the circuit board is the cause of the malfunction. I really dislike electrical devices.
  4. The car in question is a 1985 W123 300TD. Any assistance would be much appreciated.
  5. Good evening everyone... Progress is being made gradually, but a new challenge has arisen. When I purchased the automobile, the previous owner had tampered with several of the ground cables under the dashboard. He was unable to recall the reason. I had around three components that were visible, indicating that none of the indicators on the automobile were functioning. Since I am not knowledgeable about electrical systems, I hired an individual who successfully restored the functionality of the electrics by reestablishing the connections. Everything was satisfactory, with all indicators functioning properly. While preparing for the Ministry of Transport (MOT) test, I activated the side lights, causing the two green indicator lights to illuminate with a dull intensity. I have tested the indicators and they continue to function well, albeit they now provide a visually impressive display. I am experiencing a complete absence of dashboard illumination. Consulted with an electrician who believes that the issue may be related to a grounding fault or maybe inside the wiring of the instrument panel. I have acquired a substitute as a precautionary measure. Additionally, I have seen an exposed black/red wire at that location, the purpose of which I am uncertain. The electrician's assistance was not very helpful, to be honest, which is disappointing considering the amount he cost me! I have included a YouTube video that shows everything except for the part when I use the rheostat.
  6. I attempted ticket splitting and it resulted in a little cost reduction. The maximum fare I could get on Trainline was somewhat around £200, however, the outbound portion did not start until almost 11 o'clock. Frankly, the automobile would only be appealing to me if it were much cheaper than the expenses of fuel and parking. Even if I were to get a railcard, I would still choose for the car.
  7. I have not visited the NEC in a considerable amount of time, since my most recent visit was many years ago at the Classic Motor Show. Although I have not attended the restoration event, I have developed a greater interest in the practical aspects as a result of my recent nut and bolt repair job (specifically, my 1966 ride-on mower) and the tasks I am now doing with the Alfa. The focus is not on repair, but rather on titivation.
  8. As an AROC member, I get a fee of £23.50 per person, in addition to a parking fee of £12.50, which I personally found to be acceptable. However, I would not be willing to pay for rail travel due to the high cost, time constraints, and the possibility of cancellations. The current system is flawed, since it is more cost-effective to do this kind of excursion by automobile.
  9. I want to go on Sunday, and my wife, who has had a long period of pain, is also pretty enthusiastic. When I expressed my intention to drive, she queried, "...not by train?" I had not previously contemplated that, so I simply verified. It took us over an additional hour to reach our destination, resulting in a combined cost of about £250 for our return journey to Guildford.
  10. I have never seen a GT without ceramic brakes. Such an unusual specification. I envision the first sales discussion unfolded in this manner. Salesperson: Are you certain you do not want the Carbon Ceramic brake option? This is the lightweight, high-performance model, after all. Buyer: Negative. I am content with a boat anchor secured at each corner.
  11. It may be excessive to go just for the purpose of obtaining CC code. Ideally, someone located in the northern region of the nation will provide a suggestion.
  12. If you are uncertain of your location, I recommend contacting @bwchiptune in Hayes, as they may possess the capability to fulfill your request, provided it is feasible.
  13. There are many potential causes for the issue at hand, including poor contact, inadequate contact on the printed circuit board (PCB), or a malfunctioning cooling fan in the Idrive system.
  14. The mixing of DOT3 and DOT4 fluids with DOT5 fluid is not recommended. The two components are inherently incompatible, and their combination may result in a potential failure of the braking system. Furthermore, significant compatibility concerns arise when using DOT5 in a system that was originally designed for the use of DOT3 or DOT4. It is important for users to exercise caution in order to avoid the mixing of DOT3 and DOT4 fluids, since this might potentially lead to compatibility difficulties within the braking system. It is vital to consistently refer to the owners handbook and use the specific kind of fluid as prescribed for your automobile.
  15. What is written on the top of the cap of the reservoir?
  16. Greetings, It is possible to install software from different areas on the Mazda Connect system. As an example, my vehicle was equipped with the Mazda v55 model imported from Japan. The vehicle has been modified to version 70, namely the 4A variant designed for use in Africa. It is possible to install other areas, like North America (NA), alongside the existing ones.
  17. I am aware that this topic has been previously addressed within the forum. However, I kindly request the most up-to-date information about the current pricing that members are encountering for the acquisition of a new L460 model. Given my current location in Northern California, it is likely that I am inclined to explore a comparison between Northern California (Nor Cal) and Southern California (So Cal). I have been informed that there is a surplus of 40,000 units for a customized order of the SV model, scheduled for production in 2024. If an individual is able to get an allocation, they may still have a shortfall of $25,000 to $30,000 for an ATB. It is anticipated that there will continue to be a higher demand for SV allocations in 2024 due to the increase in horsepower and other factors. However, the cost of 40,000 units is quite significant. What are the auditory perceptions and intentions of the individuals present?
