diablos_carcv5
My 2007 BMW 530d e60 had an engine runaway, but I was able to quickly stop it. Observed oil accumulation above the turbocharger and emission of smoke from the vicinity. Is there a method to determine if the turbocharger is malfunctioning or whether the whole engine is affected? motorman3
The video is not functioning. Remove the intercooler pipes to assess the amount of oil present. Additionally, detach the turbo intake and inspect the shaft for any signs of movement.
diablos_carcv5
There is not a large quantity of oil, perhaps a few spoonfuls, but there is a significant amount of oil trickling onto the turbocharger from above.

Black_raven
There is a leak. If the CCV is obstructed, it has the potential to induce an uncontrolled acceleration, ultimately. There are many possible causes, however as mentioned by @motorman3, it is also advisable to inspect the intercooler and turbo for any signs of damage or malfunction. The turbo oil seals on the oil supply line are a significant contributing factor as well.
diablos_carcv5
Have I correctly replaced the breather? Is it the pipe located underneath the air filter housing? I will inspect the shaft on my next visit to the automobile. Thank you one again.
Flexfer
I requested verification of the CCV. Does it have the bog-roll type?
diablos_carcv5
The empty filter was replaced with the vortex filter, and initially, it functioned well for a few weeks. However, the problem resurfaced thereafter.
