pharmoun
I just acquired a 2024 CX30 and discovered that the satellite navigation maps it comes with are dated from the first quarter of 2022. Currently in the process of updating to the most recent version of 2024, which was published in June. Requires a significant amount of time to complete. What is the frequency of updates? DMGRS
Approximately every quarter.
Ken_Lion
In the United Kingdom, it occurs biannually. Approximately during the months of May and November. Your vehicle includes a 5-year subscription for navigation upgrades, which are sent twice a year.
pharmoun
The advertisement said that the product will get map updates for a period of 7 years. Therefore, I was reassured when I saw the message 'Expires 2031' throughout the update process.
Ken_Lion
Apologies for not seeing before that you had a 2024 edition. These upgrades occur every quarter and follow a 7-year schedule.
bl52krz
Due to the MY2024, there is a change in the map provider.
bl52krz
However, there are several subtle distinctions: https://mazda.update-mapnavi.com/overview.html?location=eu&lang=en&os=win Previously, Europe maps were updated on a quarterly basis. Furthermore, despite the fact that my automobile is equipped with the most recent maps available as of June 2024, I have noticed that the accuracy of the maps, particularly in regards to speed restrictions, is very questionable. QuirkyPixel
After updating the maps, the SD card had a malfunction and required five re-insertions before it resumed functioning. Additionally, when seeing the significant shortcomings of Mazda's solution compared to Google Maps (with specific areas being completely absent, not just outdated), I made the decision to use CarPlay and Google instead. I feel the HUD function to be insufficiently valuable to justify the additional effort required to maintain up-to-date maps.
honeycut_mazda5
Similarly, I would not be willing to spend $1 on GPS for a car that already has Android Auto/Apple Carplay, since these alternatives are superior (assuming one has access to affordable and accessible mobile phone service). Evidently, Google is currently developing a Heads-Up Display (HUD) integration system; however, it is unlikely to be compatible with any pre-existing automobiles.
