alabbasi
Greetings, I own a 2010 BMW 520d that could not pass its MOT due to a headlight problem. I have included the MOT failure document. I was informed that the angel eye was malfunctioning and was given a cost of £1200 for the repair. I cannot afford this and am enquiring if purchasing this item on eBay (screenshot attached) and replacing it would be effective, but I am uncertain whether it is the proper one. I often encounter xenon and halogen yet remain uncertain about my possession! Could somebody provide information, please? The registration number is LO10VNS. Please enquire if more information is required, since I am quite inexperienced. Thank you very much.
trikey
Is there a levelling switch next to the main headlight switch? If such is the case, it is halogen. Prior to pursuing the replacement of the bulb, it is essential to exclude the module as a potential issue, since it often fails due to moisture exposure. WanderlustGuru
Is neither light functioning, or is it just one?
alabbasi
I am uncertain. Would you be able to discern if I shot a photograph with the lights illuminated?
WanderlustGuru
You will be able to observe. Simply cover the lights with tape and return it for retesting. You will be well.
QuirkyPixel
"Cover the lights with tape." As Johnny said, it may only be the module.
WanderlustGuru
Inexpensive alternative to circumvent it 😉 Obtain a pass and thereafter remove the tape; the issue is partially resolved.
