BMW iX3 Collision

Recommended Posts

Greetings to everyone,

I trust this is the appropriate forum, but I want some guidance. I am considering purchasing a crash-damaged iX3, which is somewhat less than half the price of a comparable vehicle. The bodywork seems sufficiently straightforward to estimate the cost of the components. door and bumper. However, there is uncertainty about the rear wheel, specifically what components are missing and need replacement. Please review the photograph and provide guidance; that would be excellent. I am not a mechanic; yet, if it involves only nuts and bolts, I may attempt to repair it myself.

Thank you

The hub knuckle, driveshaft, all suspension arms, level sensor, and shock absorber/spring are the evident components shown in that image. The subframe seems to be in excellent condition. All components are straightforward bolt-on pieces. I am concerned about potential damage to the other end of the shaft in the motor/drive unit, since it might incur significant costs.

Discovered a whole suspension system; it is costly, although I doubt I want all the components. The seller claimed that many components are identical to those of the petrol/diesel model, yet I remain uncertain about this assertion. The motor drive shaft is a valid consideration; yet, it seems to be in excellent condition, warranting more contemplation.
