DMGRS
My husband's vehicle (X218) has recently successfully completed its MOT. The examiner informed him that both front tires are beginning to exhibit inner side wear. He maintains the tyre pressures for the fleet according to the specifications on the fuel flap. Is there an alignment issue, or is this the typical wear pattern predicted for the regular vehicle? Thank you.
xsports
Mercedes models frequently exhibit wear on the inside edge; however, this may also indicate an alignment problem. I would ensure it is properly aligned.
Needsnewtyres2
Certain vehicles possess a configuration in which the inner or outer tires exhibit accelerated wear compared to the others. If the vehicle has not exhibited such behaviour with the prior tires, it is likely indicative of an alignment problem or a deficiency in the suspension system. Nevertheless, such issues on certain vehicles are frequently overlooked. However, please verify the tyre pressures. Even if the alignment appears satisfactory, irregularities such as potholes can quickly disrupt it. Therefore, have it assessed for alignment by a garage experienced with your vehicle. That being stated, 'Hunter' alignment machines appear to be foolproof, so it may be worthwhile to consider the recommendations from one of those garages. When alignment is necessary, ensure that the steering is adjusted to point directly ahead, as this is frequently miscalculated.
bl52krz
I concur; after installing new control arms on my vehicle, I had the alignment performed at Halfords garage. After three attempts over the course of a week, they declared their inability to align my steering wheel properly. I subsequently visited Protyre, where they rectified the issue immediately using the Hunter system. This experience has been instructive. I typically avoid Halfords, although it was previously National Tyres, which provided satisfactory service; regrettably, that is no longer the case. torque2me
Consistently traversing speed humps might also lead to this deterioration.
VVC-Geeza
Significant wear would require driving over numerous obstacles while applying substantial brakes or acceleration, in my opinion.
