WolfieBase
I am operating a Mercedes A200, and the screen recently displayed "Stop Vehicle, Leave Engine Running." The battery voltage is below expectations due to insufficient information. Sent to a friend's recommended workshop to measure the battery voltage, which registered at 12.45V. Has anybody encountered this previously? Uncertain if the issue is to the battery or the alternator. Will the problem code disappear after replacing the battery? Please recommend workshops for the completed requirements as well. I appreciate your assistance in advance.
Black_raven
12.45 volts indicates around 80% charge, suggesting potential for improvement. The voltage must be measured around thirty minutes after the engine is turned down; otherwise, it may register inaccurately high. Avoid being misled by this. It is simple to verify the alternator's output by measuring the battery voltage when the engine is operational; it should range from 13.5 to 14.7 volts. Any value below this requires further investigation.
MDMH757
I would charge the batteries with a high-quality charger or conditioner for at least 24 hours, if feasible. It is the first element to eradicate. Numerous individuals prematurely change a battery, despite it being entirely functional.

WolfieBase
Where can I get battery servicing, charging, or conditioning in Aberdeen?
MDMH757
A multitude of individuals evaluate the chargers available for purchase at Lidl and Aldi while they are currently in stock. I believe they are seasonal and hence not available on the shelves year-round. Additional members also endorse Maypole and Ring chargers, which should be available at Halfords, automotive parts retailers, or online. I really like CTEK, particularly the MXS 5.0, which can be purchased on Amazon. While not the most economical option, they are highly esteemed. paulh2602601
When the vehicle is operational, the voltage between the terminals should exceed 13 volts, approaching 14.5 volts in contemporary automobiles. What is the number of batteries in the car? A shop would own a load tester capable of evaluating the battery by applying a load and measuring the rate of voltage decline. Rudy7831
I highly suggest the Ctek charger, which also has a 'recon' mode. It may be worth considering. If you want to replace the battery, check that the new one is coded to the vehicle; otherwise, the alternator may overcharge the new battery. Black_raven
No necessity...the vehicle will resolve it after a few kilometers.
