FireCar
This morning, when I attempted to reverse out of my driveway, a warning message stating "Release the parking brake" appeared. Make sure the boot and doors are shut. After returning to N and failing to engage reverse, I attempted D and succeeded after hearing the brake shoes ping off, moving forward a couple of inches, and finally succeeding. It seems like the "software" was having a mischievous moment with a 2020 E-Niro 4.
MDMH757
How many days had passed since the vehicle was last parked?
FireCar
Yes, it is used on a daily basis. Just to add to the strangeness, a few days ago I observed that the vehicle slowed down more than normal when I removed my foot off the accelerator. I checked the system and saw that ECO had switched to level 2, even though I had it set to level 1. In the past, when this occurred, I just reset and chose to ignore it. Evidently, the program has been experiencing some amusing side effects.
DMGRS
These mysterious (if that's even a word) failures in our automobiles' electrical systems are worrisome. The fact that the issue never appears when the vehicle is brought to a KIA shop and the standard response is "No fault found" makes the situation much more terrible. But maybe we shouldn't be too worried when the electronic gremlins in our cars decide to bug us every now and then, given the number of 'fly-by-wire' planes flown by novice pilots daily and the rarity of disasters? torque2me
The sound is similar to the typical disk-stuck pads. For my part, it's becoming worse. (due to the persistent rain) The brakes likely require maintenance, therefore I was wondering when the last time the automobile was serviced was. FireCar
My brakes get a good cleaning every so often, and the next service is in July. The dependability of aircraft software has to be improved compared to the KIA stuff!
