I hope this hasn't been posted before. New legislation pertaining to adblue and dpf erase will be introduced by the government in 2027.

As they have for decades, the tuners will continue to use generic remaps to adjust power, torque, and efficiency.

It makes me question how many older diesel vehicles have had the AdBlue system pre-installed. When confronted with a £2k charge to fix the system instead, many see it as a no-brainer and readily available "service" for £250 or so. Because many of them either don't know that testing is unlawful or didn't know that the prior owner had it done, they're in for a rude awakening when it happens.

a. Presently, it is not simple to identify during a routine MOT. It may not be so easy to include this in the regular MOT test.

c. They'll need to show that you were the first owner if you aren't already.

In a nutshell, it appears that this will be useful during specific investigations, such as those following major accidents. Or maybe if the government were to conduct a raid on tuners and seize their client lists. But it's highly improbable to be a normal check.
