HOV
Greetings, I possess a 2018 Kia Niro DCT Hybrid. The navigation system is malfunctioning. The SD card is installed, yet the vehicle continues to prompt “Insert SD card.” I utilised Kia's official update software on my computer to refresh the navigation files on the SD card. The computer successfully reads the card, yet the vehicle fails to acknowledge it. I attempted to duplicate the files onto my computer initially and subsequently transfer them back to the SD card, yet I continue to receive the same notification. What might be the underlying reasons for this, and how can I rectify it?

another_clean_sheet
I utilise a USB drive for updates and consistently allow the Kia update website to download the files directly onto the USB stick, which encompasses formatting. It consistently functions, although it may occasionally require time for the vehicle to detect the USB. Are you transferring files directly to the SD card? Occasionally, certain devices encounter memory issues that other devices can accommodate. You might consider utilising an alternative brand of SD card. paulh2602601
However, my 2018 Kia Niro is equipped with a slot for an SD card, indicating that it must exclusively accept updates through an SD card rather than a USB drive, correct? It is equipped with a USB port, which I utilise for Apple CarPlay and similar functionalities. Indeed, I am utilising the Kia software for the purposes of formatting and updating the SD card. I have attempted multiple times, yet the vehicle still fails to recognise the card.
xsports
Kia's update informs you whether you utilise an SD card or USB for navigation updates. Inserting the card incorrectly will result in it not being read.

mrnobady
I encountered the identical issue, so ultimately I returned to the website and purchased the USB directly from KIA, which functioned flawlessly. Continuing to encounter difficulties in locating an appropriate cable for ANDROID AUTO... however, that is...
