SD1too
Despite the cold, I found myself with some time on my hands and decided to clean and buff the aluminum air intakes on my S63. On eBay, I purchased a 2" buffing pad in a variety of wet and dry grades for around $6. We broke out the drill and dove in. Turned out well, albeit a touch extra polish would have been nice. We used some T-cut that must be at least 30 years old, spread it on a fine pad, and got going. There are still some nicks to fix, but it gives me something to do tomorrow and gives me a reason to avoid trouble for the time being. diablos_carcv5
For that last-minute shine, autosol is a lifesaver.
SD1too
There goes the intakes. Autosol was used as a last step before the detail spray.
ENVIOclev
I considered removing the one on my driver's side but ultimately decided it would be too much trouble and instead tried my luck with the one on the passenger's side. Did I misunderstand, and is the driver's side simple to replace?
SD1too
I didn't try to get rid of them; rather, I utilized a combination of wet and dry techniques to get my hand as low as it would go, after which I concluded with wool pads purchased on eBay. When it finally overwhelms you, you'll be too far underground to see it.
