norbury.brook
A week after purchasing this 1 series, I discovered that the bottom right corner of the digital dashboard displays a block that is noticeably lighter than the remainder of the digital dashboard (see image). Is there a way to remedy this, by any chance? Thanks
DMGRS
That strikes me as completely typical.
norbury.brook
I appreciate your response. Is it the intended state of affairs? I seem to recall that it, like the rest of the cluster, was completely dark.
DMGRS
After the doors have been locked, it should go off.
norbury.brook
After locking the vehicle, it does stop, but I've read elsewhere that the lighted block really shouldn't be so obviously placed. I've included a picture of one I discovered online; it seems to match the rest of the dashboard's design.
DMGRS
Possibly this is not the usual, since I remember my old 5 series doing similarly with the color shifting with the ambient lighting. Sometimes they're blue, like yours, and other times they're black.
torque2me
The electrical systems in modern automobiles are comparable to those in modern smartphones and laptops, complete with LCD/OLED screen problems, etc.
norbury.brook
What would you recommend as a solution?
stevenkeyte
It's possible that your instrument cluster is broken and needs replacing or servicing. A malfunctioning display panel driver or, most likely, the brightness setting is to blame for the very bright blue backdrop.
