If this is the consequence of your actions, we will remain in the dark because we do not know what you did, whether intentional or not. Was the door disabled on purpose or did you accidentally turn it off? If the issue is with the door itself, removing the door card—which may be difficult if the door is closed—will be necessary to fix the problem. As an example, I can't do it on my Mk4 Mondeo since the six screws that surround the door card can only be accessed while the door is open. If you can't recall whether you unplugged a rod or something, you might have to rely on your memory.

Honestly, I'm not convinced that 18 months is considered recent. Given that MOTs are scheduled annually, you would have discovered the problem during that period. However, has the automobile been taken off the road? The item is considered a failure if it does not open from both sides, though.

Not going to open from the inside, outside, or both, will it? I don't mind if it won't open from the inside. If it won't open from the outside, I'd say it's a bust. That is, unless by some stroke of luck they open it from the other side to check the seat belts and everything! The n/s/r door on an old car wouldn't open for some reason—the control rod link had come loose, but I didn't notice until the MOT because I hadn't used that door in a long time! It is unbelievable to me that it is any laxer now.

One half would be 2.5 litres. Your 2017 vehicle seems to be experiencing a leak based on the typical mileage.

a. Presently, it is not simple to identify during a routine MOT. It may not be so easy to include this in the regular MOT test. c. They'll need to show that you were the first owner if you aren't already. In a nutshell, it appears that this will be useful during specific investigations, such as those following major accidents. Or maybe if the government were to conduct a raid on tuners and seize their client lists. But it's highly improbable to be a normal check.

Unless the penalties are hefty enough..... It will still be against the law, but they'll be able to enforce it with force. Based on the article in the first post making alterations to a vehicle, either by yourself or by someone else, that cause it to fail to meet the approved emissions criteria. The good news is that mystery shops are already busting shops that are making illegal mods, so this trend will only accelerate. Before I acquire a car, I want to make sure nobody has tampered with it unlawfully. It wasn't the finest source, but it was the first one I discovered, and there are more.
