The Kia arrived yesterday evening. The driver gave me just under an hour notice before arriving which was helpful because I had to move another car off the drive. He went through the paperwork, handed over both keys and left me plenty of time to look around the vehicle before he headed off. Already booked it in with my local garage next week just for my own peace of mind, but first impressions are excellent. Thanks to everyone who replied and reading other people experiences definitely helped settle the nerves while I was waiting

I waited too long, the Hilux is gone. Registered my details yesterday and they rang me not long afterwards to say somebody else had completed the purchase first

My experience was a little different although there was absolutely nothing wrong with the vehicle itself. I'd bought a Honda CR-V Hybrid from Loughshore logistics, but unfortunately a family emergency came up before I'd really had a chance to use it. I got in touch with them, explained the situation, and they arranged to collect the car the following morning. Once it had been picked up, the refund was processed later that same day. The only thing I had to do beforehand was complete a short identity verification form for compliance purposes. Overall, the whole process was far easier and quicker than I'd expected.

Neither had I! They explained that the money stayed in a segregated company account while everything was completed

Never heard of a transport company dealing with the payment side before. I'll admit my first thought would've been that it sounded like a scam if I hadn't read everyone else experiences on this thread

I've used Loughshore Logistics once, but not for a car. Bought a motorbike from a private seller in Northern Ireland and they handled both the payment and the delivery Bike arrived four days later

I've known Loughshore Logisticss through work for years rather than the car side. We ship engineering equipment to Scotland quite regularly and they've handled plenty of loads for us

Quick update as promised the Peugeot turned up this afternoon. Driver rang about 50 minutes beforehand to make sure there was somewhere suitable to unload because my road's pretty narrow.Everything matched the advert and it drove home perfectly

I've decided to go ahead. Spoke to my solicitor this afternoon about the payment process and the protection available when transferring funds through the banking system, he explained that, under the rules introduced in October 2024, UK banks are generally required to reimburse victims of authorised push payment (APP) scams by up to £85,000, provided the payment was made through the Faster Payments or CHAPS system. In most cases, reimbursement must be processed within five working days. That conversation made me feel much happier about proceeding. I'll let everyone know what happens once delivery day comes round!

Funny enough my brother drives transporters for them and he says they're mainly a freight company and only recently started moving into repossessed vehicle sales. According to him they're delivering vehicles all over the UK now alongside their normal logistics work

Hi @DMGRS I reserved and paid for a repo Peugeot 3008 GT from Loughshore Logistics last week and the only thing that's happened so far is I got a call saying delivery has slipped by a day because one of the transporters broke down. Bit frustrating, but they apologised and said if I didn't want to wait they'd simply cancel everything and refund me. Will update when it arrives.

Glad someone started this as I've been watching a 2023 Hilux they've got listed and had exactly the same concerns. Would be good to hear from somebody who's actually received a vehicle?!

Evening everyone. My wife and I have been looking for a bigger family car and came across a KIA Sorento advertised by independent agent that works for Loughshore Logistics. Price is noticeably lower than anything nearby, which is partly why I'm questioning it. The agent said it's from a repo auction hance the lower price. Sounds reassuring... but paying before I've even seen the car feels like a massive leap. Has anyone here actually gone through the process with them?

No one, even Mercedes, has ever explained to me why the genuine article is superior. The same folks who make aftermarket parts also make the "original" parts. The components provide the true rationale. Miniature integrated circuits and discrete bits make up a sensor. With a yield of 99%, the majority of components in semiconductor manufacture are within tight specifications, while the remaining few are not. The leftovers are either resold to aftermarket vendors or kept by the "original" maker but marketed under a different name at a lower price. In most cases, these components that aren't up to code will still work, but they won't hold up as well when exposed to extremes of temperature or voltage. This issue manifests in all electrical devices. Resistors are available in a wide range of tolerances, with wider ones being less expensive. Some of them sell them instead of throwing them away, like Intel and other major semiconductor manufacturers. The manufacturing process inherently results in certain components being outside of tolerance, regardless of whether Mercedes has its own facility.

Carsoft has detected a signal, therefore I am hesitant to confront it quite now. The strange thing is that it occasionally registers such drastically different wheel speeds.

I recommend using authentic wheel speed sensors if you haven't already. 👍

Is the reluctor ring checked?

Since I did not unplug the sensor from the chassis harness before removing it and the signal remained after turning the wheel, I would presume that the problem is not with the connecting cable. Upon reinsertion, a signal is detected, leading me to believe that the sensor is operational. However, I should probably test it with a different sensor just to rule out the possibility that the original one is producing inaccurate results.

Once again, here we are. Before installing the new front right-hand sensor, I cleaned the large plug that connects to the ABS unit and the chassis connector that the sensor wires go into. For approximately twenty miles, everything is OK. Now I'm experiencing the same issue as previously (ABS warning lights, etc.), and I had a strange sensation when braking, as if the ABS were partially engaged, but it has since gone. Even when the vehicle is not in motion, the front right wheel speed fluctuates greatly when using iCarsoft to monitor wheel speeds. Its shifting speed can drop from 120 kmph to 0.6! Upon coming to a complete stop, the values of the other wheels become nearly zero and remain constant, while the front right wheel will erratically fluctuate between fifteen, seven, twenty, six, etc., before finally settling on the same number as the others. Is it the sensor or a faulty connection somewhere? Have you any suggestions? I am grateful.
