  1. I recently discovered that someone else reported the identical issue almost one year ago. I do not remember who initiated the discussion or the precise subject line, but the final contributor proposed incorporating an inline PCV while retaining the existing one. I seek further information regarding this matter. Advantages and disadvantages
  2. It appears that I was meant to introduce myself in the initial post. It is hoped that the moderator can relocate it to a more visible position.
  3. Purchased this for my son under a month ago. I already regret the purchase. Acquired from a guy who purchases and sells secondhand automobiles. Acquired on October 1st. Immediately replaced the oil due to its little contamination and excess volume.Within two weeks, we added 1.5 quarts. Recognising the issue, he is currently operating my vehicle while I determine the appropriate course of action. I purchased a new OEM PCV valve and hose after observing YouTube videos demonstrating the replacement process without removing the intake manifold. It appears that I must remove the manifold from the vehicle, as it is situated behind it, unlike the newer and previous versions. What a significant inconvenience! Do you have any suggestions? I have included two images to illustrate my circumstances. The subsequent models featuring the 2.5L engine are significantly more accessible. The entrance is indicated by the arrow on the right.
  4. This is the content of the manual. A unit should be present in the car.
  5. I want further specifics on what was substituted. The flap is maintained in an open position by a spring and closed by the motor. The open and closed positions are quantified and sent to the ECU. If the completely open or fully closed positions are not attained, a fault is recorded. Replacing the motor is feasible; however, if the issue pertains to the flap being obstructed inside the pipe, it is likely to malfunction again in the future. The flap pipe is a substantial and costly component from Mercedes. I speculate if the garage has just changed the motor. Aftermarket components are obtainable that have the motor and flap integrated on a tiny section of pipe, allowing for the original to be cut and sleeved accordingly.
  6. Consequently, the item you purchased will be incompatible with your vehicle. The component you have purchased is intended to eliminate the flap that attenuates the exhaust on AMG petrol versions. The exhaust flap on your diesel serves a distinct function. The purpose is to seal the exhaust outlet and recycle the exhaust as a component of the EGR system. The vehicle will not operate properly without the flap. If the flap is defective, the only remedy is to install a replacement. I am not an authority in remapping, however it may be feasible to eliminate the EGR functionality with a remap. I do not endorse such approach, since it is likely to be more costly than replacing the flap.
  7. I will take the initiative to enquire if your vehicle is diesel-powered.
  8. This has been noted by another individual. It will return to the garage on Tuesday. Thank you for your response.
  9. Thank you, everyone. It will be placed in the garage on Tuesday. 👍
  10. Hello, I just purchased my first 335d xDrive and am experiencing difficulties engaging sports mode. I will depart in the morning and allow the vehicle to reach optimal temperature before using sports mode. When I use sports mode, it lacks any sense of responsiveness. If I pull aside, turn off the engine, lock the doors, then unlock and restart the engine in sports mode, it operates without issue. Could you provide any insights on the cause of this occurrence, please?
  11. On many times, I sought a return from Amazon and was instructed to retain the item despite receiving a full refund. On a separate occasion, I requested a refund due to the non-arrival of an item. A few days after obtaining the complete refund, the item was delivered to my doorstep. I contacted Amazon to express my intention to make a payment, but they advised me to retain the item without charge. How peculiar.
  12. The temperature influences the oil levels, which fluctuate when the oil cools and warms owing to expansion. Ensure to transition the gear selector through each gear for 20 seconds, commencing and concluding in the park position. A scanner would further provide the temperature of the automatic gearbox fluid.
  13. They possess a predetermined threshold for cold temperatures and a distinct threshold for hot temperatures. The dipstick must be of the appropriate length.
  14. If it is equipped with H7 HID, then these are not normal lights; it seems that aftermarket HID bulbs have replaced the halogen ones at some point in its lifespan.
  15. H8 bulbs are designated for daytime running lights on pre-LCI E92 models. I believe that halogen dip is H7 and HID is D1S. I believe fog lights are H8 as well; I cannot recall with certainty whether the primary headlights with halogen bulbs are also H7, but I suspect they are.
  16. I own a 2024 CX30 Exclusiv with 186 horsepower and have significant moisture on the inside of the windscreen during cold weather. The windscreen warmer function is ineffective, resulting in very damp electronic garments. Has anybody else had this difficulty, since it is causing me much frustration?
  17. I believe my sensitivity to noise is the issue, but I will get it re-evaluated. Thank you for the responses. 👍
  18. I purchased it from Honda Marshall, and it has just 15,000 kilometres on the odometer. Their technician conducted an extensive evaluation and said that, considering its age, the vehicle is in acceptable condition.
  19. I was unaware until after purchasing the vehicle that it was formerly a Motability car; it is unlikely that a car could be significantly damaged within three years and 15,000 miles.
  20. I am enquiring whether anyone can alleviate my concerns. I owned a 2012 1.4 Civic for five years, which operated exceptionally well, characterised by its smoothness and quietness. However, upon upgrading to a 2021 model Civic 1.5 turbo, I have noticed that it is considerably noisy upon startup and during operation. The gearbox exhibits a lack of precision and vibrates slightly during shifts, while both road and cabin noise levels are markedly elevated. Is there a mechanical issue, or is this model inherently noisier and less refined? Thank you in advance.
