  1. Is there any knowledge on whether the serpentine belt tensioner has a mechanism that allows it to be securely secured in the released position? I am in need of the technique or method to reattach the serpentine belt. I need a means to achieve this with only one person and I've ran out of ideas. In the event that the tensioner is accessed from under the vehicle, the act of rotating the tensioner may hinder the ability to subsequently install the belt manually from an upward position. The complexity arises due to the need of using one arm to sustain the pressure exerted by the tensioner. The obstruction caused by the motor mount while attempting to access the tensioner from the top restricts the range of motion of the ratchet wrench, so impeding its effectiveness. I am interested in exploring the feasibility of using a pin or screwdriver to secure the tensioner in the disengaged state, enabling the installation of the belt, followed by the reapplication of torque on the tensioner and subsequent removal of the locking mechanism.

  3. The engine in question is the 2.0-liter variant.
  4. I would want to express my gratitude for the feedback provided. I am now experiencing the problem codes P242F and P2463. The aforementioned codes were obtained in October, and it was communicated that the filter was obstructed. Consequently, the filter was cleaned and both the oil and filter were replaced. Subsequently, the vehicle was driven for a mere 200 miles before the lights illuminated once more, indicating the recurrence of the identical fault codes. I am now uncertain about the appropriate course of action regarding the matter at hand. The individual at the automotive repair facility who had previously expressed intent to address the issue promptly in the next year is presently on vacation. Consequently, I am faced with the necessity to rectify the situation, while simultaneously want to avoid excessive expenditure in the event that the proposed solution proves ineffective. I appreciate any guidance you may provide.
  5. The automotive service facility conducted a diagnostic assessment, specifically a code check. Unfortunately, I am unable to recall the specific codes identified during the assessment. However, the codes were related to the diesel particulate filter (DPF), despite the fact that the DPF has just undergone cleaning and is now free from any obstructions. The vehicle in question has accumulated around 70,000 kilometers. Its most recent service was conducted in February 2018, while the oil and filters were last replaced in October after the activation of the warning light.
  6. Greetings, I am seeking assistance with regards to my 2008 Mazda 5 Sport 2-liter diesel vehicle. In October, the DPF light, engine management light, and traction control light illuminated in my vehicle. I promptly sought assistance from an automotive service facility, where it was determined that the DPF filter had become obstructed. The filter was subsequently cleaned, and the garage confirmed the satisfactory condition of the vehicle, as evidenced by the extinguishing of all warning lights and improved performance. I had used the vehicle over the months of October and November without encountering any difficulties. In the month of May, I embarked on a journey by automobile, covering a distance of around 50 miles. While driving on the highway at a speed of approximately 70 miles per hour, the vehicle had recurring misfires, subsequently leading to the illumination of the DPF, engine management, and traction control warning lights. I brought the vehicle to the garage for inspection, and the mechanic briefly examined it. Given the proximity to the Christmas holiday and the mechanic's busy schedule, there was limited time available for a thorough investigation. The mechanic indicated that there were no apparent issues with the DPF filter but was unable to conduct a more comprehensive examination at that time. However, they assured me that they would further investigate the matter and provide an update in early January. Currently, I am not using the automobile and I am eager to rectify its issues. Consequently, I am inquiring whether anybody has encountered a similar predicament and if so, what measures were taken to resolve it. Expressing gratitude is a common social convention that is often used to acknowledge appreciation or recognition for a particular action or gesture.
  7. I just acquired a 2023 Range Rover Sport in Houston at a price that exceeded the manufacturer's suggested retail price by $10,000. I have conducted a comprehensive examination of costs throughout the five-state region, revealing that some prices exceed the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) by a range of $20,000 to $25,000. The sales representative in Boerne, Texas informed me that I had a very advantageous transaction, but with some residual discomfort. It is anticipated that the situation would deteriorate as the conclusion of the year draws near. The current inventory levels are very low, with new units being introduced at a significantly slow rate. On Friday, the dealer had a total of four 2023 Range Rover Sports (RRS) vehicles, and upon my return on Monday, it was seen that two of them had been sold.
  8. My personal favorite are the gantry signs that emerge out of nowhere, warning of impending nuclear attack and instructing drivers to immediately slow down to 50 miles per hour, then 40, then 30, and then END, even though anybody with even little nearsightedness can see that the road is clear all the way to the horizon.
  9. Although I don't get to utilize the highways as much as you do, I have been using a product called Cataclean, and I have to say that it has really enhanced the performance of my cars on shorter trips.
  10. The servo seems to be stuck, and the valvebody sounds like it may be varnished. This is a warning that the transmission is about to fail, so best of luck. A firm with specialized transmission equipment might do a flush and cleaning service for you after a hail storm. The cost is above $200 for this. An alternative is to take the vehicle to a transmission specialist who can hook up the fluid lines and measure the operating pressure to get a sense of the transmission's general condition. Finally, you should have a look at the valve body by lowering the pan. To clean, use a fresh white cloth. This will give you a rough estimate of the amount of varnish that has accumulated. As a last resort, you might send out for an oil analysis to find out what's lurking in the oil that you can't see in the oil pan or filter. Blackstone Labs | Transmission | blackstone-labs.com It also seems like there might be problems with the TCM, which would need an expert scan. Your gearbox has served you well, but it may be time to look into buying a used one that comes with a guarantee. Or maybe a gearbox from a junkyard that comes with some kind of limited warranty? Rebuilding it is possible with the help of a master kit and some specialist equipment and a little knowledge with automatic transmissions. All the best!
  11. So, in my situation, the wing's hose wasn't correctly fastened. The wipe motors, located in the scuttle's center, are where the hose emerges. The hose exits the vehicle via a hole on the side, near the wing, and passes under the grill in the centre. You may easily remove the door seal by pulling it up by hand. The vast majority of them pass with flying colors, while a few succeed by sheer raw force.
  12. For me, CR is crucial while analysing reliability metrics. The feedback hasn't been great in my opinion. In my opinion, Car and Driver, etc. However, I always start with a test drive.
  13. My girlfriend drives a Subaru Impreza Sport, which is effectively the same vehicle as the Crosstrek, but lower. I concur entirely with your assessment.
  14. Thank you for providing this conwelpic. I have owned multiple Mazdas in the past. The Skyactiv drivetrain is extremely durable. The gearbox could "ideally" benefit from additional gears. But I adore it overall. Occasionally, you must use it, and at modest velocities, it's not the greatest. All things considered, this automobile is an excellent value. And it has one of the finest AWD systems on the market, in my opinion.
  15. Where did you see the word "finicky" used in the review?
  16. That's what I'd say It would have fit comfortably in the 17, but not in this 19.
  17. Yes, I have also done that. I created a little bolt extender and the styrene inserts weren't pricey. I just learned that the original Mazda wheel can only be used on the back since it won't fit over the front calliper. I traded it in for a set of Manchester Wheels 19-inch spacesavers, and they fit. Do you think it's even worthwhile? Most of the time, the gunk would be effective, and you would win the whole area underneath. I've just had this GT since last Wednesday (I traded in a 2018), but it appears like the wheel well is shallower.
  18. I purchased the correct styrene inserts from Mazda, however I had a space saver. You are aware that a full-size spare will not fit on the floor, correct? The floor will need to be packed with cavity wall insulation.
  19. I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with those that use ultra-cheap gasoline. About six weeks ago, when I initially acquired my automobile, I noticed that it was slow to start up with a warmish engine. After three gallons of Shell's premium gas, the issue disappeared.Keep in mind that the fuel system might benefit from the cleaning chemicals included in high octane fuels. After filling up my tank a second and third time with premium gasoline, I plan to go back to the regular fuel. To the best of my knowledge, automobiles exported to nations with lower RON standards are already configured to function properly on the lower quality fuel. What about grocery store items?
  20. We do okay with these, but as I said before, the low-mileage cars we sell to Southport's older people are our bread and butter.
  21. I have one that I'm selling at a loss since I haven't even opened in four months. I spent £600 at Fiat for the flashing odo. Plus the usual maintenance, it's a terrible vehicle. I have no idea why I decided to purchase that.
