What is the reason for the sluggish pace?
Psychil replied to WhisperingWillow's topic in General Car Chat
You may get acceleration data online to compare the performance of your vehicle. Edmunds reports that the 2.5 Skyactive model has a 0-60 acceleration time of 9.0 seconds, whilst the 2.5T model achieves this in 6.4 seconds. According to Car & Driver, the 2.5T has a 0-60 time of 5.8 seconds. However, it should be noted that they achieved this number by using braking torque. -
Expressing gratitude! My CX-60 Diesel Takumi with Bose (2023) does not have a driver woofer. How is it feasible? There is insufficient room available for it. Perhaps someone have an authentic photograph?
-
One is located in the trunk, another is positioned on the left side of the passenger's knees, and the last one is located where?
-
Greetings! The CX-60 is equipped with a Bose system that has around 12 speakers. I am unable to locate one in close proximity to the driver's legs. Is there a possibility that someone has a photograph? One intriguing aspect is the placement of the woofer near the front passenger's legs. It is concealed by a completely enclosed plastic covering. Perhaps due to the presence of a woofer speaker.

At the age of 22, I acquired the AWD Performance model which came equipped with Carbon Ceramic Brakes (CCBs), more horsepower, carbon fibre elements both inside and outside the vehicle, and several other features that I may not be familiar with. The Perf was very valuable, especially when compared to only one or two carbon pieces on a Ferrari. Additionally, there is the Performance button located on the steering wheel. Yes, it is possible to reconfigure the Engine Control Unit (ECU) to get more horsepower than the Performance model. However, it is important to note that the horsepower differential is likely the least significant factor among the several changes.

Indeed, one does. The issue is that one's crew is active.

During my childhood, I recall seeing my grandpa engaging in auto maintenance at home while he was serving in the REME. His first action was to take off his watch and wedding band.

I am experiencing a state of cognitive dissonance and uncertainty.
Psychil replied to Psychil's topic in General Car Chat
It is hypothesised that the differential mechanism is malfunctioning, leading to the decision to remove the drive shafts in order to mitigate the excessive noise produced. It is unexpected that the absence of gearbox oil leakage from the differential and drive shafts, resulting in conspicuous openings in the hubs, would be deemed acceptable. I will inspect the vehicle's drive shaft for the transfer system tomorrow to see whether it is missing. However, I plan to return the vehicle on Sunday and I expect to get a refund. whether the missing drive shaft is indicative of other concealed issues, it raises concerns about the overall condition of the vehicle. Unless the seller is completely unaware of this issue, I will provide updates on the situation. The automobile in question is indeed aesthetically pleasing; nevertheless, it is regrettable that its current condition necessitates significant financial investment for repairs. Furthermore, there is a possibility that the gearbox may also need attention. -

I perceived a sluggish pace, but attributed it to the larger size of the vehicle.🥲 -

I was contemplating the possibility that there may be an additional element that has been overlooked. It is possible that the transfer box may be absent if a differential was installed on the rear or a similar modification was made. However, what perplexes me is the absence of any fault indications on the dashboard, such as the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) light not being off. Furthermore, when connecting a scanner, no abnormalities were detected. What are the methods for removing the shafts without triggering an error? The individual in question has returned to the mechanic and subsequently contacted me to relay that the car has been deemed to be in satisfactory condition. However, I am perplexed by this assertion, as it raises doubts about the veracity of the car's overall condition. It is worth noting that the vehicle had its mandatory MOT inspection in the beginning of October, and one would expect any potential issues to have been identified and addressed during this process. Either the transfer or the differential has malfunctioned, necessitating a costly repair. However, the duration of the issue is unknown, which raises concerns about potential internal damage. I am inclined to request the return of my previous vehicle and the reimbursement of funds, a proposition that I anticipate the other party may be disinclined to fulfil. This is mostly due to the fact that embarking on a three-hour round journey would need additional expenses for me, including insurance modification and gasoline consumption, therefore inducing stress. -

Upon realising a decrease in speed, I promptly examined the hub and confirmed the absence of drive shafts on both sides. Consequently, I infer that the differential is malfunctioning and the shafts were deliberately removed to enable the vehicle to operate. I have recently contacted the garage and they have advised me to return the vehicle, which is inconvenient as it is located an hour away. I am optimistic that my 1 series is still available, since I need a car for work. This situation is somewhat burdensome. I appreciate your assistance. -
Greetings, individuals. I anticipated that I would eventually share a piece about my transition from owning a 1 series vehicle for an extended period of time to ultimately upgrading to a 2011 X1 xDrive 1.8 diesel model. I am unfamiliar with the X1, but I believe it utilises the same engine as my previous 1 series vehicle. In any case, I am now inspecting the oil and other components, since I just acquired the X1 only a week ago. During the inspection of the oil, a discernible moist area around a specific aperture was seen (refer to the attached document). Subsequently, two apertures were identified on the right and left sides of the engine, both exhibiting minor dampness. A cloth was inserted into one of the apertures, revealing a distinct odour reminiscent of gearbox oil. I am uncertain as to whether this item should have a capitalization requirement or if there is any missing information. I kindly want your assistance in verifying this matter. I have come across many photographs on eBay that I would like to share with you. I would want to express my gratitude in advance.

The power supply for the dash cam on my C-Class car was attached inside the casing situated above the rear view mirror. However, as mentioned before, the cameras show a notable sensitivity towards battery levels, leading me to unplug the power supply from the camera every night.

Inquiry on the colour representation in the CLS model.

Perform a vehicle identification number (VIN) check to ascertain if the vehicle in question has undergone a wrap. I have significant reservations about the completion of the engine bay. -
Have any of you had a Carbon Clean procedure?
Psychil replied to Black_raven's topic in General Car Chat
Once the lower manifold is removed, the core plugs can be pried out with an appropriate punch and the swirl flap screws may be undone one at a time and reLoctited. I purchased brand new core plugs from eBay, but the originals can be reused with care. -

After taking the 8v pfl's swirl flap screws out and rethreading them, I installed the obsolete injectors. Top and bottom intake manifold gaskets are an additional £25 (+VAT) apiece, in addition to the injectors (at £160 + VAT each). The injector repair kit is included with the new injectors, so there's no need to buy one separately. -
Thank you for your response. Today, I removed the rocker box lid and saw that all the lifters had sustained damage, with each one being crushed off. Additionally, I noticed that the cog located at the end of the camshaft has sheared off and is now exhibiting a wobbling motion. The original quotation provided for an independent contractor to do the necessary repairs was $2,500. I will imminently remove the timing chain cover to assess any potential damage, if there. Based on my comprehension, it is plausible that valve damage may not occur, since the architecture of the system is intended for the lifters and other components to be rendered inoperable, hence safeguarding the valves. If fortunate, the necessary repairs would include the replacement of the camshaft and lifters, as well as the installation of another timing chain and injector seals. I am uncertain about my course of action, but the consultant with whom I conversed was really helpful and has offered to examine the matter for a fee of £60. The challenge is in delivering it to him...

Thank you for your response. Are there any potential indications of valve damage in these engines? In the event that a tensioner or cog has become faulty without causing any harm to the valves, it may be necessary to consider replacing the affected component. Presented below is a video showcasing the view obtained by peering through the oil filler cap. The provided link directs to a YouTube video.

I recently conducted an examination of the rocker cover, preceded by the removal of the oil cap. Upon inspection, I saw the presence of rockers, which exhibited no discernible motion during the engine's rotation. Furthermore, an unpleasant metallic rattling noise was detected. Is it possible for the valves of this engine to sustain damage due to a broken chain or similar circumstances?

I have composed an extensive message and I am seeking guidance from someone. Could someone kindly provide me some advice, please? The expression of gratitude is really valued - thank you. The 2010 Mazda 6 2.2 diesel vehicle in question has accumulated a total mileage of 150,000 kilometers. In the previous year, a situation arose where the timing chain had elongation. Upon receiving a cost estimate in the thousands, I opted to do the repair independently. Subsequently, the vehicle has shown satisfactory performance for a duration of around one and a half years. Towards the conclusion of the summer season, the air conditioning system ceased to function well, emitting just warm air. Despite this issue, I chose to defer its resolution until the next service appointment, scheduled to take place in a fortnight, during which I intended to fix the malfunctioning compressor or clutch. Several weeks before, the vehicle began emitting a "rattling" auditory disturbance originating from the engine compartment. This noise deviated from the customary occurrence of timing chain impact or loud rattling noises associated with their failure, instead resembling the auditory sensation of screws rotating inside a tin can. I sought advice and was informed that the issue was likely related to the air conditioning clutch. Consequently, I decided to postpone addressing the problem until the scheduled repair in a few weeks. During our journey back to our residence today, a pronounced clunking sound was heard, resulting in a complete loss of power to the engine. After careful examination, it has been seen that the air conditioning clutch is rotating freely without any impact on the serpentine belt. Therefore, it is unlikely that the air conditioning clutch is the cause of the problem. The user's text is already academic. No rewriting is necessary.I had an expectation or desire for it to be so. The engine exhibits rotational movement, however fails to initiate combustion, displaying a lack of any attempt to ignite. A pronounced auditory impact is observed as the engine undergoes rotation. The auditory perception of the sound is characterized by a perceived absence of compression. Does anybody possess any insights about the potential cause or recommended areas for investigation? I have successfully established a connection with the outdated On-Board Diagnostics 2 (ODB2) system, and the compilation of error codes spans many pages. The frequency of Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) regeneration cycles is too high, indicating a potential issue. The crack sensor range is outside the acceptable parameters, suggesting a malfunction. The Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) sensors are registering lower than expected values, indicating a potential problem. The intake manifold air control actuator may be experiencing a malfunction. The fuel shut off valve is exhibiting an open circuit, which may impede its proper functioning. The right front tone wheel is displaying abnormal behavior, potentially indicating a fault. Lastly, there is a malfunction in the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) circuit. There is a significant abundance of codes. May I kindly request your insights on this matter? Is it possible that the whole mass has perished? There have been accounts of adverse incidents involving chain failures, injector seal malfunctions, and subsequent turbocharger failures, which have been described in a manner that evokes feelings of fear and dread. The current valuation of the vehicle suggests that its worth may be around £2,000. Consequently, I am disinclined to engage in the potentially costly endeavor of replacing components that may exceed the vehicle's assessed value. I appreciate your assistance.
