S213 Shaking Inside the Back

I was wondering whether anybody else had an E Class estate in which the backseat rattled.
After a month of driving my new S213, I have yet to find a way to silence that annoying rattling, despite having done everything from (a) removing the load cover entirely, (b) fastening everything in the trunk, and (c) lifting the rear seat arm locaters by ten degrees. it's all for nothing!!!
Can I try anything else?

I had a similar situation on my own. Adjust the rear seat back rests to a lower position and thereafter restore them to their original position in a hard and decisive manner. That resolved the issue with the rattling sound. Additionally, it is advisable to inspect the warning triangle for any signs of looseness. In my personal experience, I encountered a loose warning triangle and resolved the issue by applying strips of 1mm self-adhesive rubber to the area where the triangle is positioned.

I am uncertain whether it is same, however I have had a similar situation, although with a different model, namely an S212. The experience caused significant distress for almost one year. An attempt was made to use electrical tape on the pins responsible for securing the rear seat back, however this method proved to be ineffective. Various foam materials were tested on the load floor, storage tray, and removable side panels. Additionally, an examination was conducted on the baggage hooks. Upon discovering the location of the cable for the tailgate actuator under the cover, I proceeded to secure it with cable ties and provide additional support using foam material. This action led me to believe that I had successfully resolved the issue. The aforementioned statement does not align with the intended context. Subsequently, it was observed that there is an absence of any audible noise emanating from the rear compartment while individuals are there. In my particular situation, it was determined that the issue stemmed from one of the fixings/hooks on the rear bench, namely on one side. The seat base of my vehicle is equipped with a metal bar or wire that securely attaches to a hook located on the rear floor. One side of the object exhibited insufficient attachment, resulting in a noticeable shaking or vibration. The evidence of metal hook wear resulting from rattling was seen. By including a layer of thin rubber, the noise was successfully eliminated.

In my attempt this morning to occupy the rear seats, I observed no discernible impact on the situation at hand. The source of the rattling seemed to originate either from the area situated behind the rear seats or maybe inside the roof lining, making it very challenging to ascertain with certainty.

Upon arriving at my residence, I proceeded to adjust the backrests and started tapping on the three back panels, only to discover the presence of a metallic rattle emanating from each panel. I am uncertain about the appropriate course of action to address this issue, since the black panels seem to be securely integrated into the leather trim.

The process of removing the bench on the S212 is unexpectedly straightforward. To begin, one must firmly grasp the front edge of the bench at both ends, specifically where the front of the seat transitions into a curved shape towards the side. To provide a clearer visual, envision yourself seated behind the driver's seat, and locate the spot just to the right of your right knee. Apply a quick and forceful upward motion to successfully detach the bench. There are just two types of connectors, to the best of my recollection, that secure the front seat in place. Once these items are available at no cost, it becomes possible to liberate the whole bench from the hooks located in the rear. According to recollection, the procedure involves exerting force on the bench towards the back of the vehicle, then lifting it and disengaging the hooks. I was taken aback by the absence of further measures to secure the bench, which likely explains why it was producing a rattling sound in my particular situation.

Upon first removing the bench in my possession, I fortuitously discovered a sum of £1.20 in miscellaneous currency, so constituting an unforeseen further gain.

I intend to travel to the local establishment in my vehicle in order to partake in a serving of beer. To optimize space inside the vehicle, I plan to fold down the rear seats and strategically put weights on the seatbacks for the goal of elimination.

I ultimately brought my vehicle to the main dealership, where it underwent a one-day inspection and repair process to address the issues of rattling and vibrations.

The headliner was removed, revealing unsecured wires associated with the tailgate and panoramic roof. Currently, the wires have been appropriately insulated and securely fastened in place.The items have been organized into a specific order.
I am relieved that the vehicle was still covered by its warranty and that I had made the purchase through an authorized dealer; otherwise, the expenses incurred would have been substantial.
