The air conditioning unit, model C205, abruptly ceased functioning.

Male individual After enjoying a flawless experience with my automobile for a period of 2 years, however, my run of good luck came to an end when I had to store it outdoors for 2 weeks instead of in an underground location after moving.

The air conditioning system functioned well in the morning, but after being exposed to direct sunlight throughout the day, on the second warmest day of the year, it ceased to operate in the evening. I attempted to activate the button on the console, but it failed to illuminate. When I accessed the climate menu and attempted to enable the air conditioning (AC), the checkbox would temporarily mark itself for a moment before automatically unchecking itself again.

What is the likelihood that it only needs recharging? Can such a transformation occur abruptly? I would have anticipated a gradual deterioration in cooling efficiency rather than an abrupt malfunction. The car was manufactured in 2016 and its charging history is unknown.

Should I see a Mercedes expert for the best outcome? Can anybody provide suggestions for places of interest in the Windsor/Maidenhead/Reading region?

Thank you everyone!

There may have been a gradual decrease in fuel supply, and recently the pressure dropped slightly below the minimum level required to activate the low pressure sensor, causing the system to shut down as a protective measure.

Was there any instance when the LED on the console button flashed while attempting to control the air conditioning system?

A specialised MB technician is not necessary for a 're gas' procedure. A simple system pressure check is sufficient before proceeding, and this may be performed by any trustworthy local garage.

Please inform us of your progress.

PS. What an unfortunate time for your air conditioning unit to malfunction.

We are in close proximity to your location in the vicinity of Wokingham. My spouse had her previous SLK inspected and refilled with petrol by a skilled local individual. We are now attempting to ascertain the identity of the individual responsible, since my Alfa Romeo vehicle requires inspection due to the continuous use of the engine fan, which suggests a potential air conditioning malfunction, as verified by my diagnostic code reader. Once I successfully extract from her the identity and whereabouts of the person, I will provide an update on this platform.

The recommendation you provided seems to be satisfactory. I appreciate your input. The location seems easily accessible, with the option of reserving online (to some extent) and a designated waiting space, eliminating the need for me to navigate my way back home, amusingly.

I propose doing a thorough examination of the radiator as well as all the hoses and joints throughout the whole system.

Even in the absence of any prior repairs to the system (where a UV-florescent additive has been added), it is feasible to detect a leak by observing the presence of a damp and oily area. Specifically, this refers to the radiator, as well as the connections leading to and from all other components of the system.
The greasy patch is caused by the leakage of compressor oil together with the AC media.

If none of the controls, such as AC, heated screens, Auto, etc., illuminate upon starting the vehicle, and the ECO Stop/start feature is not functioning, what might be the issue? If my battery were not functioning properly today, I would inspect the compact battery located in the trunk or its respective location in your specific model.

Last year, I had a similar situation, and after consulting this platform, it was determined that the auxiliary battery was the cause. I purchased one unit, installed it, and the control panel illuminated, resulting in the successful operation of the air conditioning system. I have retained my old battery and it is now being recharged. I will test it in the morning to see whether it is my issue and perhaps yours as well. If the battery is to blame, then my issue is in determining what is responsible for charging it.

Wishing you the utmost success

Interestingly, the start/stop function of my vehicle is not functioning properly, despite having a new main battery installed last year. However, I was not under the impression that the capacitors in the W205 model had a significant role in affecting the functionality of the air conditioning system. However, it is advisable to investigate more.

I have successfully installed my original auxiliary battery, which is now completely charged. As a result, my A/C panel is now fully operational, including all capabilities such as heated screen, automatic temperature control, and high/low temperature settings. Does it assist you?

I have not yet acquired the ECO in Green feature, which suggests that my primary battery, which I assume to be the original one, is the cause. However, you said that you have already changed that particular item. Therefore, I will proceed to charge it tonight to see whether it functions properly before considering the purchase of a new one. Attempt to recharge your auxiliary batteries, my friend, to see whether that resolves the issue. I purchased a C-Tek charger, which impressively took around 1 hour and 30 minutes to charge my device. However, it is possible that my satisfaction with this speed is due to my easily contented nature. I purchased an auxiliary battery from Mercs, which cost around £115. It takes about 5 minutes to complete and is a straightforward task.
