Needsnewtyres2
I just purchased an Approved Used GLB online from a franchised dealer, without inquiring much, since it was advertised with the Premium Plus package Night Edition. I then consulted the Mercedes GLB Specification guide for vehicles produced from February 2023 forward. I assumed the usual equipment specifications mentioned would be included in the vehicle; my wife was particularly interested in the Easy Pack tailgate, motorized programmable seats, and run-flat tires. The car came without these items, so I spoke with the dealership. I was informed that vehicles are defined months prior to registration, and the manufacturing slot for this automobile corresponds to the specifications from August 2022 to January 2023. The guidebook for vehicles, applicable from August 2022 manufacturing, confirms that the Premium Plus model lacks electric seats and an easy-pack tailgate. Nonetheless, it is not the end of the world; I only need to confirm that this is generally acknowledged and recognized—consider it a learning experience.Do GLBs often have run-flat tires, or is this an optional feature in the original specifications? Thank you!
Black_raven
Over the years, we have had many automobiles with rather perplexing specifications. Following a model year alteration or facelift, producers may possess some pre-alteration/facelift models that are registered subsequent to the first changed/facelift models. As a model is phased out, manufacturers may build late runs that lack significant advertising, resulting in vehicles with specifications that vary significantly from those shown in brochures—either via additions or omissions. It might pertain to trim or alloys, but it may also include technological elements like as reversing cameras or suspension systems. Vehicles manufactured in the post-Covid era may lack certain characteristics or choices. When studying a vehicle, use caution about journalists' assertions about specifications, since the automobiles provided for test drives at launch in Europe may differ from those ultimately offered in the UK market. blueWING007
Numerous vehicles from 2022 had features excluded owing to a components scarcity (chip deficit). Consequently, it is quite customary for Mercedes to periodically modify the specs of their vehicles. For instance, my brother acquired a new A200 Saloon Premium Plus one month ago. He was seeing two Premium Plus vehicles manufactured two days apart. The first model had standard AMG line silver wheels, tinted rear windows, and Augmented Reality among the optional features. The second option he selected included the whole Night Edition Package, with black AMG wheels and tinted rear windows, but excluded Augmented Reality. Conversely, the vehicle was equipped with a heated steering wheel. He was able to comprehensively evaluate the specifications since our regular salesperson retrieved the Oasis Reports for both vehicles. As of September 11th, all Premium Plus A Class cars get the complete night package with a slightly altered specification, as stated in the brochure. The first automobile was constructed on September 10th, whereas the one he purchased was manufactured on the 12th. Two days apart and a substantial specification change. The most effective method to ascertain the precise specifications of the vehicle is to get the Oasis report when purchasing from a Mercedes dealer, or to use one of the several VIN decoders if the VIN number is available. Needsnewtyres2
thank you both. Indeed, it seems we erred by not scrutinizing the reports more thoroughly; I will request the Oasis next time.
CelestialSeeker
As already said. Nonetheless, I would verify that the vehicle is accurately represented as claimed - specifically, the 'Premium Plus package Night Edition' - since dealers have been known to err in their descriptions of automobiles in advertisements. rab60bit88
The misconception arises only from the manufacturers and merchants allowing it to happen. As a buyer, you should not be required to verify data; rather, you need to be well informed. The situation has worse as vehicles have become more complex, and it will worsen further with some functions being 'activated' either permanently or by subscription. My MB has an ambiguous inventory with varying expiration dates, most of which is inconsequential to me. The aspects I want are inadequately elucidated, causing confusion not only for myself but also for the dealer on some elements. The unwanted satnav seems to be integrated with ECO mode, indicating that, although being a subscription service, it is also linked to the control of the engine and gearbox. The complexity is compounded by the several packages, which adds to the confusion.
