Is the EQA the Next Vehicle?

Recommended Posts

A Luddite, I am now progressively acquiescing to electric vehicles, mostly due to my wife's potential purchase of one. She seems to favor the A35 or EQA, although not having driven either, acknowledging that they are almost at opposite ends of the spectrum.

Cars up to two years old seem to provide excellent value, however it is recognized that one pays a premium for the enhanced features.

I like the EQA primarily due to its financial viability and suitability for commercial operations.

I would appreciate some guidance, specifically:
Is the 350 significantly superior than the 250/250+ for mostly local excursions of up to 12 miles, considering that range is not a primary concern? Outstanding 140-mile round trip conducted monthly.
Are there other vehicles from different brands to consider, given that technology and gadgets are not a priority for her?
Are there any dependability concerns about EQA that should be noted?

As a brief observation:

If you want to do lengthy automobile rides often, consider the charging speed in addition to battery size and WLTP range.

These vehicles are restricted to 100kW, making them suitable for urban environments but less than optimal for regular long-distance highway travel.

The original poster is considering a vehicle for 12-mile local excursions and, once monthly, a voyage of 140 miles.

In my opinion, it is unnecessary to consider charging speeds as a criterion for the purchase in certain situations.

In my opinion, EQA seems to be the most rational option for this kind of application.

While it is reasonable, it is important to note that the MB specifications indicate that a 10-80% charge takes 35 minutes when using public quick charging; in my view, this is not a significant drawback, since most people will seldom depend on this option.

In my four years of electric vehicle ownership, the one occasion I experienced the advantages of super-fast charging was last year when traveling to Switzerland via France.

Nonetheless, I believe that charging speed is often overlooked, mostly due to ignorance. In my opinion, anyone purchasing an EV should be cognizant of all pertinent factors to make an educated selection.

That is essentially my argument, however.

The original poster has clearly stated their usage: 12-mile local trips and a 140-mile round journey monthly.

It would be akin to stating that every four years one must retrieve a wardrobe from Ikea, hence necessitating the continual use of a huge estate vehicle or similar.

In other words, if the original poster appreciates the EQA, a 35-minute charging duration at a potential fast charging station should not deter a purchase, in my humble opinion.

It is necessary to conduct test drives to develop an opinion, followed by locating certain users.

My next test drive was the EQC, which I believed would be a high-quality car, but less energy efficient. Generally 2 to 2.5 miles per kilowatt-hour.

I was unprepared for its instability. Return to the first planning stage.

Acceptable for people who like such things, but not for me, thank you.

Disregard any internal combustion engine driver who claims that electric vehicles are prone to catching fire, depleting their charge, or lacking maintainability. Generally, they are speaking nonsensically.

Dealers would be pleased to allow you to test their electric vehicles. They are eager to facilitate their sale.

The EQA 200/250+ is an obvious choice for your needs. Unless you really want the additional power of the 350. Both will possess analogous equipment. The new MGS5 is reportedly excellent, especially with Trophy specifications; consider exploring it. 🙂👍
