I possess a Mercedes-Benz GLB 200. A yellow notice unexpectedly arrived a few weeks ago, indicating the need to reduce engine oil, despite the oil having been replenished six months earlier. I drove the automobile to the dealership, and on that day, the notice did not appear. They ultimately performed Service A. A few days later, the notice reappeared. The vehicle was inactive for a week; now it displays a red notice indicating to switch off the engine oil. It occurs sporadically and may not manifest throughout my subsequent journey. The vehicle operates satisfactorily. No unusual sounds, etc. Today, it indicated to add 1 litre at the next filling; nevertheless, two minutes later, the red notice reappeared. The engine warning indicator is not illuminated.
I am arranging the booking. Do you believe it is a sensor-related problem? Thank you very much

Indeed, a defective engine oil level sensor appears possible.

If the issue were genuinely oil-related, would I have seen unusual sounds or a change in performance?

Only if the oil level was extremely low, as the engine would overheat and seize. Does it presume that the vehicle lacks a manual dipstick?

It does not.
Last night, it said to add 1 litre. The previous day, it indicated a reduction in engine oil. Merc performed a service two weeks prior.

No apparent issues. This issue commenced a few days before to my Service A, and they did not mention anything. Do you recommend utilising a mercenary or an independent contractor for this purpose?
