Certainly not, and I shall explain the rationale.

What type of post-purchase service/guarantee/assistance will be provided?

Is this a Smart charger, meaning can your electricity supplier incorporate this charger into their system for genuine Smart Charging?

You will still need to hire an electrician to upgrade your current wiring.

Do you possess solar energy systems or battery storage solutions? Are you intending to acquire them, as that will influence the kind of charger required?

Acquire a tethered charging cable; an untethered one can become quite cumbersome, particularly during winter and inclement weather.

Examine the Octopus page; it contains a wealth of information that will assist you in determining the type of setup you require.

No photovoltaic systems or energy storage devices. I would be eager to acquire them; however, their cost is prohibitive and it requires a minimum of 12 years to recover the investment (even longer in my situation since my electricity usage is primarily for charging my vehicle).

Would you opt for a tethered connection? My charger is located in the garage, thus rain poses no issue.

If it is located in the garage, an untethered option might be acceptable, but verify the extent to which the plug protrudes from the charger; otherwise, you may inadvertently collide with it for the next decade. My charger resides in the garage, and I opted for a tethered solution, routing the cable beneath the garage door to a Type 2 holster affixed to the wall, which is quite tidy.

Purchasing an inexpensive charger might ultimately be more costly; I would recommend opting for a product offered by your energy provider to ensure reliable support in case of any issues.

If your energy provider does not present a favourable offer, simply switch to one that does; it is not as if you are experiencing a complete charger malfunction that requires immediate resolution.

Examine the offerings of EDF, Octopus, and others, then conduct a comparative analysis of their energy tariffs, including the daily fee (I utilised an Excel spreadsheet for this, and it clearly indicated the most advantageous option at that time; I am uncertain if it remains so and need to reassess.)

I would dedicate some time to exploring all your alternatives; it may be somewhat tedious, yet it is quite gratifying in numerous ways when you can distinctly observe your savings.

If you wish to transition to Octopus, I possess a referral code that will provide us each with £50 in credit.

I would opt for an untethered charger, and I have already acquired one due to my requirement for a minimum length of 8 meters, which was unavailable in a tethered option (I possess a 10-meter charger). In reality, the charger end is secured in place (it’s a Zappi 2 charger), making it no more challenging to handle than a tethered version, yet I possess the adaptability to alter the length if I decide to rearrange the physical setup. Should the cable sustain damage or deterioration, I can effortlessly substitute it. I have utilised this for seven years without any regrets. I presently possess two electric vehicles, and their extended length allows me to access either without the necessity of relocating them.
