nicebubby8
Good evening everyone, Seeking guidance I own a Mercedes C350 with a 62 plate. Recently, I had an oil leak and had it examined by a local mechanic. Initially, the mechanic identified the issue as a rear main oil seal problem. However, it turned out that the actual cause of the leak was the oil cooler. Both the rear main oil seal and the oil cooler were replaced. After a delay of over 6 weeks, I finally received my vehicle back last evening. Unfortunately, I am now facing a new problem where the car is unable to exceed 3,000 revol I would certainly appreciate any assistance. After doing a brief web search, it seems that the issue may be related to the vehicle being in limp mode. One suggestion I saw is to turn off the ignition and then restart the vehicle. The situation remains same. There are no fault codes shown on the dashboard, and no further issues have been identified. Thank you in advance
BENZE220AMG
After purchasing my S203 C270Cdi, I had the issue of it not exceeding 3K RPM, which fortunately occurred while the vehicle was still covered by warranty. The issue was resolved by replacing the MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor.
WanderlustGuru
You will want the codes for analysis, since there might be several factors contributing to the issue. Playing darts without codes is ineffective
BENZE220AMG
Another issue I discovered with the problem on my S203 C270Cdi was the failure of the kickdown mechanism. Therefore, if you are experiencing both issues (inability to rev over 3k and lack of kickdown), it strongly suggests a malfunctioning Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. I apologise for the sluggish memory. The issue with the S203 occurred 15 years ago, which was 2 years prior to when I exchanged it with the present S204 C220.
Starcar2022
You may attempt to reset the electrical system by disconnecting one of the battery connections and seeing whether it resolves the issue. There may be a fault code that is still saved.
xsports
In order to replace the oil cooler seals, it was necessary to remove and replace all components located in the "V" area between the two banks of cylinders. The probable reason is either improper reconnection of a component or damage to the turbo actuator mechanism. They are anticipating your notification of a "new fault" so that they may charge you for the diagnostic process. It seems that you need the assistance of an expert who has the necessary expertise; oil cooler seals are a prevalent issue with the om642 engine, and as such, they should not be easily misinterpreted. paulh2602601
If the issue was not there before to the seal replacement and if it pertains to the om642 engine, it is likely that your technician has not reinstalled a component correctly, maybe an electrical plug. Conducting a code reading will provide valuable information to identify the specific problem.
colinallcars
By the way, there is no need to feel guilty about your six-week duration. I have surpassed a duration of three months. Frankly, I anticipate that it will be beneficial. If you possess the ability to operate a vehicle or make an attempt to do so, while simultaneously having someone available to capture a brief video recording, it may be possible to fulfil your request. If my situation were similar, I would inform you.
