Approval for differential fluid

Recommended Posts

The appropriate oil for typical rear axles is 75W85 GL5, which meets the specifications of Mercedes Spec 235.7. Two lubricants that satisfy this specification are TITAN SINTOPOID FE, available for purchase from Opie, and Gulf Syngear PC 75W85.

The transition from 75W90 to 75W85 was made with the intention of improving fuel efficiency.

My buddy now has an empty Alfa gearbox since they made a mistake by not checking whether the filler unscrews before removing the drain cap while installing a new driveshaft. This oversight may be considered a schoolboy blunder. I will address the matter tomorrow...I have devised a tool that can replenish the gearbox by using the expansion breather. This tool will be useful if we are unable to successfully loosen the filler. Essentially, it is a large syringe equipped with a narrow copper tubing that is designed to fit into the breather recess.

Greetings, gentlemen. I will place an order for the oil.
However, I have one more issue. I am aware that the oil would flow more efficiently after it has reached a higher temperature, but the vehicle is already elevated. Is it advisable to let the vehicle to idle for around 15 minutes before shifting it into drive in order to circulate the fluid?
