unfortunately, it's not the garage. I've had multiple garages investigate the matter, and none of them have been able to locate callipers or anything cheaper.
-
You need to get a new garage now. I am worried...
-
The garage reports that both have seized pistons.
-
Are callipers inherently flawed?

The cost to repair the 508 PSE hybrid's front discs, pads, and callipers (ALCON) is five thousand pounds. Not only is it prohibitively expensive, but the left calliper is also unavailable. Could another combination of pad, disc, and calliper work? Want the cheapest fix because the car has 110k miles. I am grateful.
-
Look for another mechanic if he is unwilling to complete the work.
-
Next year, I will renew the assembly following the previous instructions of "... or 5 years..." since it is a custodian. Who knows if main dealer parts were utilised during the last renewal? Your mechanic can't legitimately say that the vehicle can go 14,500 kilometres since its last renewal if this isn't the case.
-
Much obliged, It didn't seem like my mechanic was interested in doing it, and he was firm that it wasn't essential. The most recent oil change was in 2022 at 96,000 miles, and the total mileage is 146,000 (the paperwork was supplied by the garage right before I bought it). Just like any other vehicle, I plan to hold on to this one until it becomes too expensive to maintain. My last Audi a6 lasted until it was seventeen years old, with sixty thousand miles on the odometer.
-
I thought we were supposed to change the cambelt assembly around 2020, right? It all comes down to your level of bravery and how long you plan on keeping it, because an adventurous owner might go against what Audi currently recommends. How far has it been driven so far?
-
As you can see from searching these forums, Audi's recommendation for cambelt renewal has fluctuated over the years, ranging from approximately 80,000 to 140,000 and everything in between. Trade forum members typically recommend 80,000 miles or five years, whichever is earlier. Compared to the cost of replacing the engine due to cambelt failure, this repair is a steal.
-
My 2015 Audi A5 coupe is a 2.0 TDI. The cambelt intervals have recently changed to 140,000 miles, according to a local mechanic I spoke with. I would appreciate it if someone could verify the truth of this. In my mind, it was either 80,000 or four years. Although he did say it's not necessary just yet. Much obliged.

The wife has a Yaris Gr Sport in solid white, and my previous Evoque was Yulong White. I was hoping for a change, so I got an Ash Grey Bi Tone for my 24 C-HR Gr Sport. I think it looks better than the solid white, but I guess that's just my opinion. -

I've already asked the same question when I went to the dealership down the street. The computer, alas, said no. You were right; it was worthwhile to enquire. Storm Grey appears to be the way to go, but it will be some time before that happens. I intend to continue using my Scarlet Flare for quite some time. -

Titan bronze, the colour I ultimately chose for my Mk.4 Yaris, was not available in the configurator. This colour was only shown to me after we had already discussed options at the dealership. Would you recommend it? -

Ash Grey isn't a colour I'd choose. Regardless, you adore the hue, and it's unfortunate that they discontinued it. Also, I've seen a few C-HRs in that colour, so you won't be the only one let down. -

Indeed, most forums nowadays use an escalation approach. A keyboard frenzy can be sparked by differing viewpoints and opinions. The white paint jobs and primer-style colours have always been my favourites. It doesn't appear to show water stains and is easy to clean. I know I'm not alone in lamenting the Ash Grey's demise. Clearly, not all individuals 😂 -

My goodness, that got out of hand fast! The Toyota primer isn't as terrible as some of the VAG primers, but it does appear like they skipped the top coat on a few of the lighter greys. -

I am grateful. I hate that shade of grey. This is nearly as terrible as the white :D:D -

I have a white Gen2 with a black roof, but I also think the dark maroon colour is stunning. -
To my disappointment, the Ash Grey option is no longer available on the Toyota configurator. What a disappointment; that was my preferred colour scheme for the next C-HR; the black rear quarter was a perfect complement. It always looked great on my first-generation Toyota in that colour, so I'm surprised Toyota decided to get rid of it. The salesperson said Storm Grey is the replacement; however, I will not make a final decision until I see one in person.

Oil seal for the rear differential (F30/F31)
paulh2602601 replied to another_clean_sheet's topic in General Car Chat
These tasks are best left to a garage that has the expertise and specialised equipment to do them efficiently. I would also consult a BMW dealer for an estimate. You should probably replace the driveshaft seals as well if you decide to change the diff, because it's a big job that requires a fair amount of disassembly and the suspension needs to come apart on one side.
