Then this is it. The local tractor and harvester shop can handle all that kind of stuff where we reside, which is in a rural region. The tractor place released the back wheel bearing of an ancient W123 estate in seconds, but our local garage took forever.

Proceed as described before; disconnect all hoses and pipes; then, bring them to a nearby hydraulic shop. Did this, and it's typically far less expensive than the original equipment manufacturer (OEM). To begin, look up the part numbers on Google.

The 1999 280 SL's Power Steering Pipe

It sounds so simple when you put it that way! I will return to the garage to get it removed once I receive a response from Pirtek. -

Take the hose off the vehicle and provide it to them so they may replicate it. -

I apologise if this is a really basic issue, but I'm not sure how to specify the hose and its fittings. Is the standard available someplace, or do they need to view the carâwhich is leaking terribly and I shouldn't be drivingâ? -
Regarding the initial response. If you can provide the exact dimensions and fittings, any hydraulic hose manufacturer can manufacture a suitable replacement.

Making a duplicate using the original as a template should be no problem for your neighbourhood Pirtek store. -
Hi This morning, I heard a terrible screech from the wheel. The power steering pipesâtwo sectionsâthat connect the pump to the steering box and the one that attaches beneath the alternator were promptly identified by a local handyman as requiring replacement. Having severe leaks! I think the SL shop can assist with the metal one (A1294603324), but they don't have the rubber one (A1294662681), as far as I'm informed. Do you have any suggestions about where I should take this? I simply drive the dang thing; I simply do not possess the necessary technical knowledge or comprehension. Someone complimented the car's appearance only yesterday, and now I'm slightly freaking out. I am thankful.

I'd hold off until I can locate another reliable E31 specialist.

I wanted to get things checked out a bit sooner, so I called Lee. It appears that he's booked out until August. Do you have any other recommendations? It seems more probable that this type of work would be taken on by someone who is completely focused on automotive electrics and has the time and energy to identify and repair any problems. I'll simply wait till August and send it to Lee if the worst comes to worst.

I would highly recommend Lee Shannon in Bentley, which is close to Farnham.

I am hoping that the knowledgeable members of this community can help me with some electrical troubles I've been experiencing. 1. The pop-up headlights would only function sometimes; I replaced the control relay (61351932413BMW) believing it would be the culprit, but the problem persisted. There are a few possible suspects: the Light Control Module (LKM), which is not available locally and should be repaired as soon as possible; alternatively, it might be the engine on the passenger side. 2. Sunroof â the motor isn't turning, can it be fixed? If not, I'll have to get a new one. 3. The seat tilt switch is malfunctioning; it is once again believed that the motor is the problem. Do you know of any historic automobile electricians in the Surrey/SW London region that might possibly fix my vehicle? Anyone with the time to come out and inspect the problem and find a solution would be preferable, but it may be a distant electrician or a garage. Unfortunately, I am too busy with job and my kids to tackle it on my own. Thank you ahead of time!

It may be costly, isn't it? An Alpine unit for my Bose-equipped 500 was quoted at ÂŁ1799 by my local Bristol station, WesternCareRadio. Retrofitting these things is a huge pain, I don't mean to imply it's a rip-off. Now that I have the NGT1, I'm confused on what to do next. Not easy.

Coming in after the celebration had already begun. An inexpensive short-term fix might be to hook up a powered bluetooth interface to the radio's audio input. If you have an iPhone, you can use Siri to control the music, podcasts, and phone calls. For little more than 10 pounds. Even without the SatNav's video display, it will still direct you and help you avoid traffic.

I appreciate the feedback, but I've decided to put off the upgrade for the time being in order to address certain "deferred maintenance" issues that have arisen.

Although Comand does offer aftermarket unit supply and installation, they will only work with specific brands like Pioneer and will not work with customer-supplied or Chinese devices. Just give Richard or Mark a call, and they'll give you some good advice on what might work and how much it would cost. They are located in Lightwater, Surrey, not far from J3 of the M3.

A few of months ago, I had Braybrooks expertly install a Pioneer sph-da77dab for ÂŁ850, and it has been working well ever since. With options for Standard, Bose, and Harmon Kardon audio, as well as different versions of the command, NTG, and ancillaries (CD changer, phone, satnav, etc.) installed, it may get difficult as to what has to be added, uninstalled, or bypassed. So, you'll need to do a significant amount of study. You can find all the necessary components at InCar Tec or a similar store if you're handy; however, any 6.8-inch double-din head unit would serve as a suitable substitute for the pioneer (at least in my opinion; I must admit, I'm not that knowledgeable about vehicle audio, which is why I opted for Braybrooks). In addition to being more accessible than Braybrooks, the command staff online are well regarded. It would be wise to enquire about their capabilities in installing aftermarket head units.

Hello everyone, What do you think about replacing the outdated head unit in our 2003 SL500 with a newer model that has Bluetooth and Carplay? The existing command unit is the original, with a Nokia cellphone that is hardwired into the center console; regrettably, there is no plug-in module available. I am thankful.
