mrnobady
Greetings, everyone. The make and model of my automobile is a Mercedes E-Class W211 E280. Over the last week, I have noticed a persistent squeaking sound when driving and using the steering. I visited the technician today and, after inspection, he informed me that the front left wishbone requires attention. The technician has provided a price for the following: - A wishbone from a reputable brand is £125 - The labour cost is £65, including VAT. Is this pricing considered reasonable? Thank you. BENZE220AMG
The pricing seems favourable. Is the wheel alignment also being inspected?

mrnobady
Regrettably, there is no wheel alignment available.
DenishP4
The hub ball joint is another component that produces a squeaking noise. Is this wishbone? Does the top one support the leg?
mrnobady
According to him, the less expensive option costs £95, while the higher quality brand costs £125. Additionally, you may verify the MOT history starting from January. I suspected that the problem may be related to the wheel bearing or the end ball joint. DenishP4
Ball joint for a hub. Both failure and squeaking are common.
heralder
Choose a reputable brand. Which brand is considered the best brand? Each of mine cost 500€, so it seems like a great deal. Presuming that the component is really of high quality. Have you experimented with MB?
mrnobady
Regrettably, I am unaware of the specific brand. The technician has informed me that the issue is not with the wishbone, but rather with a seized ball joint.
heralder
If the ball joints are removable, there should be no significant issue. Regrettably, the ball joints on my control arms cannot be removed, making the remedy evident but expensive. It is advisable to get the ball joints from MB. DenishP4
I have used Lemforder and TRW hub ball joints, both of which are original equipment manufacturer (OEM) providers. There is no need to spend excessive amounts of money on an aesthetically pleasing container. The ball joint on the w211 control arm is not detachable; the whole arm must be replaced. The middle thrust arm has a detachable tiny ball joint that links to the arb link arm.
heralder
I am aware of such information. When I purchased the control arms for my vehicle, the only available options were from the manufacturers MB and Febi. Therefore, I have made my decision.
