nickoyster4
CarPlay connects successfully around 75% of the time. I need to restart the vehicle in 25% of cases to establish a connection. Is anybody else encountering this?
honeycut_mazda5
I reconnect manually when it happens. If it is unsuccessful, I will establish a wired connection. Occasionally, this method fails, and I must wait before restarting the car. However, it often ends up being successful in the end. I feel that all wireless CarPlay solutions have drawbacks. nickoyster4
Next time it occurs, I will attempt using the connected connection. Thank you
honeycut_mazda5
Additionally, please verify whether it is connected when you get the opportunity. If it fails to connect, just reboot your CX90, and it often reestablishes the connection. Typically, I am in a hurry and start driving before realising that the device hasn't connected. By that time, I am typically in a position where I am unable to pause and begin again.
EtherealWanderer
Occurs to me around 25 percent of the time. I am frustrated by the fact that when I attempt to connect manually, I encounter the spinning wheel of death and the connection fails, despite the vehicle recognising my phone. nickoyster4
Agreed. Connecting to CarPlay manually is not successful. Next time, I will attempt to connect the plug to see if it resolves the issue. However, my regular approach is to just turn off the vehicle and then restart it. nickoyster4
On another forum, it was mentioned that the CX-90 used a WiFi connection for CarPlay. Does anybody know the reason? Is there a specific rationale for choosing WiFi over Bluetooth? Bluetooth can simultaneously connect several devices, but WiFi can only connect one device at a time. This is likely to result in more problems.
nickoyster4
I have discovered the solution to this. This is my first experience using CarPlay, so I am a novice. Being a dedicated Apple user, I was frustrated that my 2017 Dodge Durango did not have CarPlay, which was introduced in the 2018 model. Here is the reason for the WiFi: Wireless carplay uses Wi-Fi for transmitting data such as Maps and Music. Bluetooth establishes the connection, but the data transfer occurs via Wi-Fi. Bluetooth lacks sufficient bandwidth and requires Wi-Fi for data transmission.
xsports
This problem is not present. We own the iPhone 13 Pro and 15 Pro models running the most recent operating system. They are always connected. The automobile may have the most recent upgrade since we acquired it directly from the boat in early November. Here is an article detailing the process of connecting to CarPlay. Apple CarPlay
blueWING007
Wireless CarPlay seems to have connectivity issues across all cars, as far as I know. It is bothersome, but it consistently functions perfectly when connected to power, so it doesn't bother me.
nickoyster4
Thank you. Yes, that's my understanding. This is my first experience with CarPlay, therefore I am currently familiarising myself with its idiosyncrasies.
CelestialSeeker
CarPlay is consistently functional for me, however I have connectivity issues with Android Auto. Google Maps and Waze tend to disconnect after around 30 minutes on the first connection. However, when reconnecting, they perform flawlessly for the remainder of the journey. Initially, it occurred during the day, and I attributed it to the sun/heat, but then it also happened at night.
coolguy
Wireless CarPlay might be unpredictable at times. If the phone does not connect immediately or when plugged into the USBC, unlocking it might be helpful.
peakroach
I have the turbo premium and I have attempted both wireless and cable connections without success. My CarPlay connection attempts are unsuccessful, while I have a Bluetooth connection that allows my music to play over the audio, the touch screen remains unresponsive. I have spent several hours attempting to make the automobile operational. I have removed the phone from the system twice and attempted to connect using both wired and wireless methods. Are you implying that I must register for the hotspot in order for it to function? Any other recommendations before I go another 78 miles to the dealership and seek their assistance? When we retrieved the vehicle, the servers were down, preventing us from using the app. However, the issue has been resolved and the app is again functioning properly. coolguy
If the connection fails, go your settings and reactivate the wifi.
peakroach
Should I disable Bluetooth?
coolguy
Ensure that Bluetooth remains chosen. Wireless CarPlay uses wifi for communication with the vehicle. When CarPlay couldn't connect, I discovered that the Wi-Fi was deactivated or set to disabled and couldn't be re-enabled automatically. peakroach
I suspect there could be a problem with either my phone or the automobile. I ensured that the WiFi box was selected and have completed all necessary steps. I am able to play music and view videos from the phone, and hear audio, but there is no video as the system is not establishing a connection via CarPlay. I will bring it to the dealership on Thursday. Thank you for attempting to assist, it is already showing animosity against me!
Flexfer
My device connects immediately on some occasions, but on others I need to access music and activate Apple CarPlay. It is inconsequential to me.
